You get two to build your forward line, who you taking for your Elite Smalls? (selection as been 150+ gamers that averaged 1.5 goals per game)
Following that, Milne as a small forward is the most talented and consistent performer of the past 30 years I've seen. While is reputation was tainted by a heavily publicised off-field incident, his football craft was second to none.
How Dick Lee hasn't achieved AFL Legend status is beyond logical comprehension. Despite 5 seasons during his career being cruelled by a severe shin injury, is CV as few peers ~
#26 all time league goals scored.
11× Collingwood leading goalkicker: 1906–10, 1914–17, 1919, 1921
10× League Leading goalkicker: 1907–10, 1914, 1915–17, 1919, 1921
Collingwood Captain: 1920–21
Collingwood Premiership side: 1910, 1917, 1919
Victorian representative: 19 games, 60 goals
Fitzroy's Jimmy Freake, aptly named for a gun forward, was a classmate at high school with Dick Lee. Both played for a local Collinwood junior side - The Friendlies', and it was Syd Sherrin, the junior Clubs Treasurer, who told Freake that Collingwood was going to go with his classmate Dick Lee as a forward, hence Freake going to Fitzroy to seek opportunity. That must have been some school team with those two head surfing and kicking bags.
