This week, unhappily two changes will be forced on the Crows, having to replace Johnson & Vardy.

Making claims for selection in the SANFL this week were Burton (4.4 for WWT) and Richardson (6.7 for Westies). Richo took 14 marks at FF and but for poor conversion could have had a dozen. Poor conversion is the problem at the moment throughout the Crows forward line, so he is not alone there. At least now the forwards are getting enough possession to create significant goal scoring opportunities. Good game by Bienke this week may make up for the loss of Vardy.

I think Ricky O must be under the pump a little. If he is dropped, contenders for his place would be Shir and Bassett (back from injury) and Skipworth (who wasn't allowed a game this week). The other player who is on shaky ground is Welsh.

There are enough players showing form for Crows I think to cover for chnages. The only question is - how many changes, and who will be selected?

Michael Doughty - 14 touches 1 goal
Ian Perrie - 13 touches 6 marks 0 goals (didnt have a great day either)
Stuart Bown - 20 touches 10 marks 2 goals
Richardson - 15 touches 14 marks 6.7 (surely will get a game)
Ben Marsh - 14 touches 10 marks
James Byrne - 21 touches 5 marks
Burton - 4 goals
Skipworth - 30 touches

I think Burton will have to come in this week, he can cover either Johnson in the midfield or Vardy up forward. The other inclusion will probably come from Bassett, Shir (if they recover from injury), Richardson and Skipworth. It depends whether we want the extra tall down back (Bassett), to combat the Hawks tall forwards, or the extra height up forward with Richo. Another factor is whether Robran plays back, then we can play Richo and Hewitt forward, and Bassett won't be needed. Otherwise if Robran plays forward, we could be a little top heavy. It will come down to team balance in the end.

I like Robran and Stevens in defence. I also liked the Hewitt/Bienke combination last week. I'd be willing to persist with that for a couple more weeks before bringing Richo in.

Personally, I think Burton & Shir should be included. I think it might also be wise to drop Ricky O and bring in Richardson.

That gives us a forward six of:
Bienke, Richardson, Welsh
Burton, Hewitt, Smart

which has promise anyway of getting a reasonable score going,

centre the similar to last week,
Stenglein, McLeod, Edwards

and a back six of:

Shir, Stevens, Hart
Robran, McGregor, Goodwin

which I think might go a fair way to matching up with Hawks 4 tall forwards plus Lord.

Just some thoughts. There are a lot of rotations that can be arranged here.

Shir and Burton in for this week, at the expense of Vards and Kane and I think Ricky will be dropped and maybe Richo or Shirley (who was unlucky to be dropped last week) or even young Skippy who played well in the SANFL two weeks ago!

Go the Mighty Crows!!!!

I think that line up is too tall. we need a rover or two down there. With those six guys they will be trying to outmark each other all day, we need someone to get the ball outta the packs. Ladhams, Shir, Skipworth or Roo in amongst that lot might do the trick.

Burton and Bown in, Vardy and Johnson out. Interesting inclusion Bown, heard some good reports, anybody got any info on him and his recent form??
