Good win against the Roos guys...

Just interested in the progress of your #1 draft pick Sellar... A lot of Dogs fans were super keen to get this kid but when the chance came we passed and grabbed Everitt.

How's his form been in the SANFL - is he playing and if so, when do you think he'll be a chance to debut?

All the best for the season!.

Was injured early in the year with a groin I think. Played a reserves game for Glenelg last week and was back in the Glenelg seniors today.

Spent about 50% of time on ground (25% ruck, 25% Forward)

Kicked 3 goals and dominated the hitouts I thought.

Thanks Bus... What are your thoughts... Does he look a likely prospect, or more a bigger body that's good at the level below but too slow for the AFL?

Star :thumbsu:

The dodgy piece of chicken that apparently made him sick as a dog during the U/18 Championships might win us a flag one day.

Which was his second reserves game of the year.

And no way is Sellar too slow for the AFL! At one stage last year or late 2005 when he was tested for the 20 metre sprint his time was 2.96. One of the best times for someone his height.

I still can not believe Jimmy was available at our pick at last years draft.

Pick 14 shouldn't get you a player as good as James Sellar.

I know I am still stoked we got him now we just have to help him develop into a star which is the tough part.

the great white hope

wont debut this year but I think if he gets a solid pre season under his belt he could be a show next year for some regular footy.
Please for god's sake do not refer to him as that, remember dear old Fergus, we referred to him as the great white hope, and he turned out to be the great white dud.

Sellar is a star. The next dominant CHF of the AFL, without any doubt whatsoever.

I read at one stage he ran a 2.87 over 20m.

HOLY RABBIT TURDS!!! Dude if that's for real...that's Buddy Franklin-like pace. Gee whiz, tall KPPs with that sort of pace are just absurdly hard to come by. Can you confirm this bus? EDIT: Just found it on Google. That is seriously quick for a player of his size and I find it hard to believe. You would think that as he matures and his conditioning improves he could improve his pace somewhat. Makes things all the more exciting for sure.

I knew we should have kept this a secret from you. :p

Incidently Richard Tambling ran a 2.87 at Draft Camp.

I'm sorry but thats utter tripe.

He ran just under 3 about 18 months ago but his DC testing time was up around 3.10. Very good athlete either way.

It didn't look right, but I haven't made it up on the spot. Read it from a few sites around the place. The earlier mentioned 2.96 sounds more like it. Which is real quick for a big lad.

Yeh the 2.96 is right.

But there is no way on earth he ran 2.87. None at all. As I said, he ran nearly 3.1 at DC. You cant really take too much from testing times really, they are only an indicator. You need to see how quick blokes look on the ground.

I wouldn't read much into his 3.10 to be honest. I presume he was still crook as a dog.

DC isnt the same time as Champs.

I dont recall him being sick at the time of DC but I will stand corrected.

I would imagine he still would have been feeling the effects. He lost somewhere around 8-10kg. I would guess that the Champs and DC would have been no more than a couple of months apart?

They are a couple of months apart IIRC but yeh, he could have still not been 100%.

Dodgy Chicken = No good.

I myself ate some dodgy chicken once, probably 3-4 years ago, was sick as a dog for a year. It's the worst feeling as well, absolutely zero energy. The actually feeling ill doesn't last for THAT long, but the lack of energy does.

really anything under 3 seconds for someone 195cm is awesome, no matter how you look at it.

then add into it the kids brain and ability and you have something special. Obviously he's got to want it and put in the hard work - but there isn't a limit to how good he can be if he wants it enough. :thumbsu:

Not to mention his vertical leap. I think at DC he did a 65cm, Edwards won it with 69cm.
