has anyone got any idea why all these finals are being played at aussie stadium and telstra stadium, instead of giving the sides that have performed best all year their deserved home ground advantage?? this just seems ridiculous to me.. the AFL does it too, but thats only one game and only if there is no other game in melbourne, the league seems to insist that EVERY finals match is played in sydney bar the first week.... it has cost sides no doubt

WEEK 2:
St George v Sharks @ Aussie Stadium (why wasnt this played at toyota park?? st george finished 7th didnt they??)

Roosters v Knights @ Aussie Stadium (again, should have been played at Marathon, the knights finished 3rd, and this IMO cost them the game)

WEEK 3:
Sharks v Broncos @ Aussie Stadium (god only knows why this should have to be played in a half filled aussie stadium when it is a brisbane home game that would sell out ANZ, brisbane being the highest crowd drawing club all year)

Roosters v Warriors @ Telstra Stadium (no wonder the warriors are outsiders.. little comfort for busting their gut all year only to play away from home where they would have a huge, and deserved advantage)

GRAND FINAL:
no gripe with this, but barring a miracle, this will be an away game for the deserving brisbane or warriors

I am in two minds on this issue.

However, I do tend to agree with you, particularly with the NRL at this stage where crowds would be capacity at the home ground, but then again the NRL are hoping by staging games at Aussie stadium, bigger crowds would see the games.

Are you going to the G/Final in Sydney.

I would love to be there.

A stack of us are going to the Crown Casino the watch the game live.....a Storm function.....so I am really looking forward to that.....it's great being with rugby league people on such a big occassion.....(though I will have 2 guys with me who have just started to watch rugby league and are really getting into it)

I was under the impression that the games were ...

Brisbane vs Roosters

Warriors vs Sharks

They did give the teams home finals a couple of season ago, all the way up to the week before the g/f. And because of how the ladder ended up the Bondi mob ended up travelling to Melbourne and Brisbane and God knows where else....they kicked up a fuss....and lo and behold, next year the NRL changed it.....

my apologies, what a stupid mistake, i was in a rush that day and obviously didnt think about it.

whilst up in far north qld for the past few days (now back in wintery sydney :( ) i met a few kiwis and they were all getting into the spirit of things when the warriors were playing the sharks. apparantly they attract a fair bit of media attention back home, albeit only when they are doing well!!

im still in two minds as to whether they should be allowed in the competition at the expense of sydney clubs... oh well, i actually am hoping they win on sunday

That's very typical of all supporters of many different football codes

You are sounding like an afl Victorian supporter, but most have moved away from feeling like that.......

Get over it and look to the future too.:p

ms storm.. the reason most melb based afl followers have moved like that is because the game is extremely strong down there. the game will never diminish as the number one code down there. to assume that league should take the same stance is not recognising the slide in league interest in sydney, and to continue to push the game at the expense of sydney clubs will make league the 3rd most followed football code pretty quickly. the game would not survive if the game was not strong in sydney its as simple as that.
