If you're into V8 Supercars (like me), then SEN is great. Last season Neil Crompton and Brad Jones hosted The Panel Beaters every Friday night at 6:00pm. Great interviews with drivers managers etc. V8 fans in S.A will love it.

The moment SEN started was the moment 5AA was taken off the autotune and SEN put in its place.

SEN wipes the floor of 5AA IMO. I like the show on in the early arvos, before the drive program.

As for the demographic, I don't really think 5AA don't care they don't aim for under 40's, as sister-station Nova caters for that group, so DMG gets just about everyone across the 2 stations - youngsters on Nova, older people (that's about as politically correct as I can put it, sorry) on 5AA.

"Mature" or "Old Fart" will do.

What's the reception like in Whyalla Noddy? I haven't had the radio on for 2 years, could try now but that would mean moving my lazy arse.

YES!!!!!!

Finally someone bagging Ian "Bloody" Chappell. Most overrated cricket identity in this country. If I hear one more thing about 1972 I'll puke.

Makes stupid outlandish comments & is never taken to task for them.

You've got me for life now Mad Dog. :D

Hang on, with my short term memory loss, all I can recall is 1972.

OK SEN is starting to ******** me off already

did anyone catch the interview with Barry Robran ? - I tuned out half way it was an embarrasment and an insult to Barry

it was simple intervew

ask barry about himself - interupt with a question about victoria
ask barry about why he didnt come to victoria - interupt with anyone he knew that did come to victoria
ask barry about playing SOO - interupt about player who left SA and played for big Vic
ask barry about his thought of playing SA people in Vic colours - since you didnt do your homework as about players he played with to fill in the last 5 minutes of interview because your a brainless idiot

basically every ********ing answer barry had, should have related in some stupid way to victoria - dermie and his clowns had no idea who Barry Robran is or was it was the most embarrasing interview i have ever heard !

this doesnt seem to be unusual nearly every interview i have heard with a SA personality they try and realte it to something in victoria while when its the other way rounds its "well for the benfit of people in SA" like we are ******ed !

As I said when SEN first anounced the move ionto Adelaide - It will not work !

Sport is about local identities, local teams - they need to have locally produced content as its been proven with current affairs as well.

I tend to agree with you WW,

The more you tune in the more you realize it's intended for the Victorian market with SA being an after thought.

Only tune in to the KB mid-morning show now & even that is becoming 2nd choice.

1323 - the old 5AD slot.

For the other recent comments - yes, I agree that the Victorian thing is going to be their biggest weakness and they don't seem to be making a serious attempt to address it. (Recruiting locals for a few selected timeslots doesn't cut it)

I'm getting tired of hearing people talk about Melbourne streets and pubs as though they are local to the listener.

Hopefully the footy season will improve things. Collingwood is a universal language, after all :p

Or to put it more seriously - I like listening to people talk about Richmond's chances, or what Eade is doing at the Bulldogs. I do mind hearing about who's playing at the Anglers Tavern (wherever that is) on Saturday night, like I can choose to go.

From a Melbourne perspective, I can understand Adelaide listeners getting upset.

SEN listeners in Adelaide should get local programming for breakfast and drive during the week.

I suggest people not happy with the current situation email the station. I've emailed them in the past when I've had questions about the station, and have got replies within the week. Now is the probably the best time to email them - they need all the listeners they can get!
enquiries@sen.com.au

The problem is that not only is SEN in Adelaide off to a less than perfect start, but listeners in Victoria are also having to adjust to more ad breaks and no time calls for the sake of networking. So, if SEN don't address the situation quickly, people on both sides of the border could be changing stations sooner rather than later.

You make some good points. In particlar, how can any radio station hope to seriously penetrate the morning and afternoon drive time slots without time calls etc? Even traffic info (yes, I know, we sport fans don't want traffic info, but reality is they need to provide that sort of material to survive in those time slots)

And while I'm at it - on the way home tonight, an announcer referred to "a little stadium just across the road" as having something to do with the Commonwealth Games. Is that Adelaide Oval? ;)

Definately needs more local content. I notice that Adelaide gets Melbourne's traffic reports on SEN too. Why should I (or anyone in SA) care if there's delays on the Westgate Bridge, or there's an accident in the middle of Werribee. Sorta makes me feel like SEN's forgotten about Adelaide.

ALso, apparantly SEN are refusing to do SANFL games because they don't want to share with Life FM and 5RPH, and claiming it's too expensive. So it looks like they now want to destroy any coverage of SA sport. Maybe my long-awaited dream of a total boycott of 5AA may be short-lived.

I've now bought new batteries for my portable CD player, so I don't have to listen to any radio station now.
