Senator Madigan

Madison is a complete lunatic, no doubt, and just the next in a long, long conga line of *******s who have publicly supported EFC throughout this; but how has no-one picked up on the real reason this thread exists?

The OP has obviously seen Madigan on his "crusade" for justice and spammed the Honourable Senator about a certain case involving a wronged and betrayed young footballing superstar and a Mum who just wants to see justice done against the vast AFL conspiracy that has single-handedly ruined their lives.

And then when the Honourable Senator didn't respond, indicating even the fruitcake can identify another fructose flavoured confectionary when he sees one, the enraged Mum posts on old faithful (where she knows she will get a reaction that she needs to make it through another day) about the corruption of the Senator she just recently saw as her salvation.

And so it goes let it go, let it go
A thread by Cycon? "trying to contact him (Senator Nutcase), about a different sporting integrity matter"

Honestly how long before this turns into another thread about how their kid should be an AFL superstar but the conspiracy and evil recruiters wanted to keep him out of the system after some failed beep test or something as 14 old and some unrelated injury?:drunk::$ This is honestly possibly the saddest continuously running false narrative farce on BigFooty ever. You always had these types of parents at junior footy games I guess, but this online and offline vendetta spanning possibly almost a decade is just laughable.

oh it was picked up on, but some things are best left alone

Ah yes, Crawb. How about you telling us your allegiances?
Curious you always pursue it.

Yes, a lot of money has gone into GWS, but it doesn't mean they should escape the law.

Politicians are the opposite of gravity, let's say, therefore, they are contra gravity: they are attractive from a distance and repulsive at close range. One needs to invert science to become a politician. One needs to scramble ones senses to love a politician.

Allegiances? :D:p Ha! Of course I'm somehow part of the conspiracy - the plot thickens...woooo!! (That's sarcasm - figured you might need a hand with that)

This is just soooo sad it's funny. Your kid wasn't that good. I mean it's junior football in Canberra - there's a reason only one kid or so every few years gets drafted from the region - the talent is not that good. Big fish small pond etc etc. Like if a player is not even playing NEAFL (or AFL Canberra First Grade back when this presumably began now) or NSW/ACT Rams state side level they're not even making it to TAC Cup in Victoria if they lived elsewhere for example. Never a chance at AFL. Seriously, wake up and just move on.

A doctor who falsifies records deserves to be exposed and the ASC who employed him after being told he had done so without investigation also deserve to be investigated.

Which member of the press will get to do the exclusive?
Independent Victorian senator John Madigan has won his bid to secure the release of secret documents relating to the Essendon injecting program.

While the Federal government and opposition successfully opposed his call for an independent inquiry into how the Bombers' case was handled by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, Madigan was able to secure the release of key documents in his motion in the Senate on Monday.

These documents include the final report of ASADA's investigation into the Bombers, dubbed Operation Cobia, the review of that operation by former Federal Court judge Garry Downs for former Sport Minister Peter Dutton, a separate review of ASADA for former Sport Minister Kate Ellis and the decision in March last year by the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal to clear the players of doping allegations.

It's an interesting development one way or the other - particularly in the current political context.

Is there any obligation on senators to not relate or discuss the detail in the report publicly?

This is what he's asked for.

To move—That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Minister for Sport (Senator Nash), no later than 4 pm on Friday, 22 April 2016, a copy of the following documents relating to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) and the National Anti-Doping Framework:

(a) the 4 March 2014 final report by ASADA investigator, Mr Aaron Walker, on the ASADA investigation known as ‘Operation Cobia’ into the Essendon Football Club’s 2012 player supplements program;

(b) the independent review of Operation Cobia conducted by former judge of the Federal Court of Australia, Mr Garry Downes, and commissioned by the former Minister for Sport, Mr Dutton;

(c) the report of the independent review of ASADA commissioned by the former Minister for Sport, Ms Ellis, the existence of which was reported by journalist, Mr Sean Parness, in The Australian on 10 July 2009;

(d) the decision of the Australian Football League (AFL) Anti-Doping Tribunal signed by chairman Mr David Jones and members Mr John Nixon and Mr Wayne Henwood, dated 31 March 2015, which cleared 34 Essendon footballers who played for the club during the 2012 AFL season of an alleged violation of the 1 January 2010 AFL Anti-Doping Code;

(e) the October 2013 report to ASADA management in which ASADA investigators reportedly detailed a strong case against Gold Coast Suns footballer Mr Nathan Bock and high performance manager Mr Dean Robinson over the use of banned peptide CJC-1295;

(f) all documentation in the possession or control of ASADA, the Minister or her department, whether held electronically or in hardcopy, that relates to ASADA’s subsequent decision not to pursue anti-doping rule violations against Mr Bock and Mr Robinson including, but not limited to, all correspondence, file notes, minutes, memoranda, agreements, decisions, reports, and any other form of document whatsoever relating to this issue; and

(g) all documentation in the possession or control of ASADA, the Minister or her department, whether held electronically or in hardcopy, that relates to ASADA’s decision to reopen its investigation into former AFL footballer, Mr Bock, including, but not limited to, all correspondence, file notes, minutes, memoranda, agreements, decisions, reports, and any other form of document whatsoever relating to this issue.

Note that when he first tabled the motion it was never discussed. Today he moved it with the date changed to May 6.

That will be VERY interesting.

The investigators report and Downes report in particular.

It seems to have been forgotten that Dank was charged with administering more substances than just TB4 to the players. Releasing these kind of reports could contain info on other substances and discussions around the pros and cons charging the players with using them. Likely has these discussions around TB4.

Seems to be a belief on behalf of some EFC supporters that the release of these documents will show how it's a stitch up and a witch hunt on behalf of ASADA. I'm not sure that's the case, the Downes report for example could just as easy raise questions how did the AFL tribunal find the players not guilty.

Bock stuff could also be interesting in regards to ASADAs decision making why did they go with the EFC 34 first.

Seems Madigan going to get the documents, but is he going to like what they tell him?

Would have thought the acc report would give madigan a dose of reality and the afl stuff is minor as compared to the big picture

We might get some more details from the ACC in this as well.... Dank has previously complained ASADA illegally used info given to them by the ACC.

Not outside the realm of possibility the investigators (or Downes report) to recommend not pursing a charge due to being unable to independently verify info given to them by the ACC.

Chip is saying documents unlikely to be released two reasons.

1 "However, the documents are unlikely to see the light of day after Liberal Senator Scott Ryan said it would be inappropriate to release any material containing sensitive investigative material."

2 "The prospects of the government being persuaded to release the documents before the Senate’s deadline appear slim. With Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull expected to call a double dissolution election shortly after today’s Budget, the current parliament may be dissolved on Friday."

Rest of story is what is covered in earlier posts.

Can't imagine Bock stuff being released as ASADA have said they are revisiting it based on Danks admission. And I wonder if Madigan did this knowing full well the government would be in caretaker mode and nothing would actually happen? (Big noting himself before an election). If he does get access, I dont think he's going to like what he sees in any case. Reckon the AFL and Essendon would be quietly shitting bricks over this.

He did get caught out a bit, he was going to move his motion a few weeks back (16 April) to have it released 22nd April, this would have been before caretaker mode but no motions that day were moved.

Agree there is likely stuff in the reports that AFL/EFC34 would not like to get out. Like why was Dank charged with administering Hexeralin, but the players not charged with use? Suspect this to be discussed.
