I reckon Woosha would do a good job developing our list. He's got a good track record in that respect. Even if he's not the best tactician i am confident that he can bring together a good group and teach them to play tough, committed football. Lets be honest we are in all probably at the start of a lengthy rebuild. He will be a good guy to have on our side. Also having a non Essendon person will probably reduce the amount of media pressure we get for a while which will be nice as well.

Also i don't mind that he's had a bit of time out of the game to refresh and get some perspective. Being a senior coach requires a hell of a lot of energy. It really is a non stop job where you're never truly off the clock so to speak. So its fair enough to have some time off between roles.

But really even if we get someone else. I'll keep an open mind and see how it evolves. I am glad we at least appointed a panel which included some non Essendon/independent people and had a proper process to hopefully get the right person for the team. Coaching is much more than just a gameplan and motivating a team now in this modern, complex world of ours and coaches need to bring multifaceted skillsets in order to be able to adapt to the constantly changing environment.

I'm okay with this. The only problem is that he is not afraid to bottom out. Not because I don't want a rebuild, but because it took over a 100 years for Carlton to catch up to our wooden spoon tally. I don't want it to blow out again.

But other than that minor issue, he knows how to turn a side around very quickly.

I think we've been doing a good enough job already. The difference between 4th pick and 1st aint enough to go back down the well.

We've also been pretty much doing a youth policy thing since halfway through the year. We're pretty much in media res for whatever a new coach would need.

Well, apart from the whole... y'know. WADA thing.

Yep. I just dislike Carlton and don't want to ruin our 82 year run of avoiding the wooden spoon.

Any chance that we get McKenna as coach with Worsfold as assistant... And they re-consider Bennell. Bennell was an awesome player under McKenna. Loved the way Suns played. With a few bigger bodied Bombers thrown in (Hocking, Watson, Myers etc) and genuine speed might be winning formula.

Someone find the McKenna audio they played on SEN earlier and put a link up. I would have thought after being an AFL coach he'd be able to play the poker face a bit better, but i read into what he said that him and Woosha are on their way here.

Putting all parochial sentiments aside, reading between the lines the jobs of ess, carl and Adelaide were Worsfolds if he wanted them.

I dont know what his reasons are (if its us) but I'd say its a pretty big tick for the state of our list.

He probably looked at carltons and spewed a little bit in his mouth, looked at Adelaide and thought ok pressure is probably on here, already in finals with a list I've got no stamp on. I'm.taking another mans team into finals battle.

But Ess is a free hit, no outside expectations but a list that could content quickly if the right buttons are pushed. But I also reckon ess and wce shared a pretty big rivalry for a long time, a lot of special moments , huge games. I'd reckon he would have a respect for us from those times.

We also most likely backed up a truck to his house full of green notes.

We now need to find the best assistants to help him.

I think we need to desperately find a great midfield coach, especially a tacticalky astute one. I feel we missed Goodwin this year, I didn't like the combo of Harvey and Skipworth or whoever it was in charge of the midfielders.
