You want to hope that if you sign Worsfold that you also recruit a decent match day coach ! I guess if your team is the complete package right down the 22 then you may be lucky because John just sticks to the game plan and relies on everyone doing their job and beating their man. He loves a swing man and should talk Carslise into staying because Woosh can definitely motivate and inspire.

Outrageous!! What's wrong with living in Adelaide? Sure it's got no life, no energy, a shit zoo, a CBD with absolutely no charm and could've been taken from Footscray, nothing to really look at other than a cricket ground, no jobs, is boring as ****, no decent bands tour there, a shitload of Churches and two of the biggest muppet clubs in the AFL are from there.
Other than all that what's wrong with Adelaide?
It went really downhill when they shut Magic Mountain....

You've grown into it I guess. Everyone from Adelaide seems to move to Melbourne at 18 and back ten years later.
Most people move after Uni. We have a huge exodus of 22-25 year olds mostly and this is because there are not jobs readily available to them.

Adelaide is a fantastic city for the 30-40 age range.

Lots of great restaurants, art, music and performances. The city has evolved over the last decade into one of the most modern cities in Australia. The CBD in particular is now a hive of activity most nights.

Unfortunately however there is no job market for the late 20's age range so alot of people move after finishing university here.

Hurley and hooker are even better swing men than Carlisle

So Worsfold has applied for the Essendon job after walking out on Adelaide hey.

But I thought that no one wanted to go near Essendon, especially with the attractive destination of Adelaide looking for a coach as well.

The media and bigfooty supporters sometimes do talk a lot of crap.

The only thing I'm getting out of this is that Worsfold has a game plan. Already ahead.

Interested to know whether we put Worsfold through has paces in the interviews whether the process is regarded as a farce.

What do you want the club to do not appoint an experienced premiership coach who has rebuilt one of the current powerhouse lists when they are most of the criteria that make him the best candidate because of the perception that candidate being a premiership coach who has rebuilt one of the current powerhouse lists was the reason that he ultimately got the job?

I find the attitude that other coaches would not partake in the process both unprofessional and disingenuous. If you don't want to be part of the process it is because you are not confident that you are good enough and don't want the stigma of being an unsuccessful candidate. It's all a bit ridiculous.

Spot on Bruno

This has been the case with a few of our recent coaching appointments - farcical interview processes then someone just comes along and gets the job.
That said though I think he'll be a great fit for our club - tough and uncompromising and 53% win/loss ratio pretty good

I can tell you 110% for sure that this whole thing was a farce. Woosha was your target from the word go. You dont have to believe me as I don't care, but my source is very strong. Hird himself knew the writing was on the wall when it was made clear sometime July ish that Woosha was open for a coaching role. Hird supposedly said the day after he got sacked that if Woosha becomes coach then his sacking was premeditated and planned and that Woosha has already committed to the role. This report they got on AFL.com.au is absolute bs!

I will also say, if we happen to not sign John, which won't happen, but if it did, well then we've put Little + whatshisface + Dyson + Jobe on a plane to Adelaide to convince John into applying for our job, possibly forcing him to turn down other opportunities, and then we say sorry you're not the man for the job? That doesn't reflect well on the club either.

I don't mind headhunting, in fact, I think "coaching selection panels" are a total abduction of responsibility from the people in jobs/roles at the club. But we've had a dip each way and it's just sucky.
