Surely Jobe at the very least would have been least likely to be party to headhunting JW. If anyone at the club would have wanted things to have started to have been done properly, it would be the guy that seems most weary of the bullshit out of all of them. Dangerfield hunting as part of the agenda for the trip seems more likely.

I don't mind headhunting, in fact, I think "coaching selection panels" are a total abduction of responsibility from the people in jobs/roles at the club. But we've had a dip each way and it's just sucky.
And you'd be naive to think headhunting doesn't happen anywhere else, I work in local government and roles are always getting advertised with a certain someone in mind.

Woosha is Lethal mark II..had is couple years off to decompress and now he's ready to go again.

Best possible candidate available he is and we've got him.
Paul Roos had a couple of years to decompress & look how that's turned out so far.

Just saying.

I'm happy with Worsfold. Very happy. Not often I feel happy about a club decision.

I think he'll give us some stability we sorely need. We didn't have it with Knights, we had it briefly with Hird before that turned to shit. I think we're in for some level of rebuild and a respected, senior figure like Worsfold gets some time to do that, unlike a a young bloke who can get chewed up and spat out quickly without success. I don't wanna be looking for another new coach in two years.

Thing you always hear about Worsfold and I heard again today is his absolute preparedness to delegate - he did it at West Coast with Sumich, who ran the strategy. Worsfold is a secure and confident bloke who knows where he's not as strong as others and has no trouble delegating. We'll give him whoever he wants.

In any case questions of his strategic sense don't wash with me. His onfield results ring true.

As for drive, "I want to coach, I was stupid to think I wanted to do anything else". The bloke is ready to return.

No issue with the need for stability. No issue with questions of how driven he is. There is a real issue with a lack of due process if that's what's happened. If we believe JW he was merely told what he would need to present at interview - sounds like his foot is in the door at least.

I dont get the process? why do you need a process? Did the Lions have a process when they sorted Leigh Matthews out? Seek target, get target is also a procees is it not? I mean The crowes had inside running to snatch Worsfold, Roo wanted him, but we still landed the eagle.

Also in regards to Wallsy's article about Worsfold not being tactically minded? didnt the eagles in 2011 have one of the best forward line presses?

Show me evidence of a lack of due process.

The process is a matter of due diligence to make sure that the 'target' is indeed the best person for the job, so that we don't end up with someone like Mick Malthouse when we could have had Luke Beveridge if we'd done our due diligence through an interview process.

You want to hope that if you sign Worsfold that you also recruit a decent match day coach ! I guess if your team is the complete package right down the 22 then you may be lucky because John just sticks to the game plan and relies on everyone doing their job and beating their man. He loves a swing man and should talk Carslise into staying because Woosh can definitely motivate and inspire.
I'm pretty sure he's had plenty of time in the last couple of seasons to sit back, watch the good teams and work out a new way of match day coaching.

Quite confident our board will suss out his ideas and listen to the now wiser Woosha.

Im not really that happy with Woosha although i think if he brings the right person along with him then it could work.

Id hope wed at least give Ratten, Burns, Caracella, C.Bruce, Woosha, Mckenna, Camporale and more a good look

We don't have rules in place that ensure that façade happens though. We can just headhunt. Instead we tried to look good and professional and shit...and then two minutes hopped on a plane. And opened themselves up to obvious and justified criticism
