Purely on looks from the yard, Farnan looked almost exactly like he did as a 2yo in the yard. Most of the others looked to have matured well beyond him on appearance.

On the surface the times were quick, I mean they did run a race record, but I’d prefer Hugh to show initiative and take the lead rather than sit outside Rothfire, and I’d guarantee Gai told him exactly that pre race.

At this stage he looks the typical modern slipper winner to me.
 
It's a better bet at Caulfield than it is at Flemington but seems just as unlikely to get a run there. Would think Lexus, Geelong or the Valley are the most likely lead up runs

You couldn't be happy with the race planning if you'd bought into the thing.

Would have loved to have seen Russian Camelot head to Epsom.

Just for the pure intrigue and effort involved. Couldn't have cared about the result but he wouldn't have been disgraced.
