Where is Noosaboy?

This time last year he was a serial pest on here, telling us all about the amazing pick ups they have, and from all reports most of them aren't actually playing for Noosa this year.

Gotta feel for them if it's true, not alot of work around on the coast at the moment.

There's plenty of work around. The problem is too many footballers think that they can move up here and someone will knock on their front door to hand them a job.

Agree completely with this, Clubs on gold coast & sunshine coast both suffer from players they arrange solid connections for letting them down.

Top 5/ bottom 5 IMO,

Wilston Grange - Quality pick ups in midfield, struggled in this area LY
Magpies- Young and talented line up, close to the mark and will improve
Palm beach- best midfield now in comp, solid big men, new leader
Noosa- home ground helps, huge loss of 2 best ball winners, forwards key
Surfers- Good midfield, new recruits, talking it up early.

Sandgate - Slide down a little, will still be there abouts
Mayne - great pick ups, home ground advantage, maybe 6 wins.
Springwood - young talent maturing, still ahead of Maroochy and Cooly
Maroochydore- long way to go, great ground and facilities
Coolangatta.

interesting that you put mayne, who have won about 4 games in 3 years, ahead of maroochydore, who finished 2nd, then 3rd. then last year in a season to forget played Noosa to a goal at Noosa 4 weeks before finals, led grange at grange for most of the match and had sandgate all but beaten bar the last 2 mins when they kicked 2 late goals at home 2 weeks before finals. I wouldn't say they have a long way to go, more that if they can find some depth and 1 or 2 quality players would be the team most likely to improve out of the bottom 4.

Who's up for tipping this year and stick with it for for whole year?

Lots of people talking Mayne up to improve, which would be hard not to do after not winning a game last year. They seem to have only "recruited" the same side the had in 2010, Brown, Ferguson, Falconer etc. And back to the coach they use to have. How many games did they win that year? The whols comp has moved forward from then, be interesting to see how much things change.

Lots of PBC in and out talk but no names? Anyone put a few forward? Same with Grange. Brittains (who are cousins, not bros) Shir, Trewella the only ones spoken of, are there others? And who are there losses? Rodgeers, McMahon, Skuse, Cash, Nicholson been thrown around, fair loses.

Is Brewster headed to Redlands for sure? He was the difference in a fair few games last year, great player and didnt miss to many.

Sandgate lost Dickfos, Overington, Fabian, Walker, Garton. Lots of experience there, might make it bit tougher this year. Havent heard of any recruits.

Have the Magpies lost anyone? Why would any one leave who is under 21 with the Lions setup, and a chance to test their ability at NEAFL level before fully committing to a club. Still think this is a huge advantage, be interesting to see how many 17 or 18 year olds have left other clubs to try their luck?

Lots of rumours, love this time of year! Be interesting when the trials start who has what etc?

Yes angus is still there. Lost arnold knight to southport but picked up Jess Derek , lost brad horn regained Brent rhynhart. Fairly balanced so far!

Has Derrick been training with PBC?
Good get if he has. Would have thought he would be contracted at Broadbeach.

Rodj,
Yes Jess has been training at PBC. A local junior, and absolutley wrapped to have him back. Hopefully a couple more to come in coming weeks.
Brent Rynhart is about 32.
Back to the Grange, have they really lost those players mentioned?/ Rodgeers, McMahon, Skuse, Cash, Nicholson.
Can anyone confirm this?

Derrick is a solid state league player. Do you know why he left Broady?

Caloundra Panthers going to div 4.... Will this help the Roos in season 2012. I know that Caloundra have some quality players down there. But seems a lot have left the coast??
Im sure a lot will head up to Maroochy which can only be a positive for them.
Will Noosa be as strong this year with the losses of 2 gun mids in brauer and matthews?
My predictions top 5 are

PBC
SURFERS
NOOSA
SANDGATE
GRANGE

With the word i am getting on PBC - it's only going to get better for the recruit wise.
Grange will finish higher then 5th if they have signed the players mentioned. Maybe Brittain who apparently is down there helping out Marto could make a call to Favola ( who he coached remember ) - is a little birdie whispering that he might play a few games on permit....

Yes Kwit - the strong mail i got from my spy tells me they have gone from Grange. The rumour also is that they are getting plenty on the training track.

Tough call on Magpies?

Dont know much about Caloundra PIES, who plays there that would be capable of a step up to next level?

Replace Sandgate with Magpies in that 5 I reckon. And Mega - no players that will all of a sudden make the Roos final 5 certainties!

For those who are interested in the tipping i'll try to throw in a small gift card at JB's as a prize how's that sound?
