BioShock 2.

A truly original and philosophically profound game turned into a money making sequel with some pissweak MP thrown in.

Didn't even finish it, was one of the few games I've traded in.

I think the only COD I really enjoyed was the original...
The 4th Original? Or the 'Original' Original?

Remember, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the 4th COD!

*In rifles only at least...

I was playing/enjoying it until at least 2008.
Ended up a tad laggy but still fun. Made deaths humorous at the least (1 second death cam of yourself still standing up right, running on the spot).

I'm in a minority here. Couldn't finish 1 or 2.

Really didn't like. I loved the look though. I dunno, I still maintain I would happily play through if I had god mode or unlimited bullets just to see how it ends.

Hopefully with Red Dead they leave they go about it GTA style, retire the character but reuse the game style with new characters/location.

Whilst a direct sequel to Red Dead Redemption would be a bad idea, don't forget that Red Dead Redemption itself was a sequel to Red Dead Revolver, so you could say 'Red Dead' is already a series much like GTA. Hopefully a third installment is in development because I love westerns and I love Rockstar, and I hope the two keep stay together. They make a wonderful couple.

I think EA Sports should cease releasing their games annually. Every year, each EA sports game is simply a watered down, roster updated version of last years. They need to take a year off to improve upon and fix their sports titles and just release patch updates for rosters every other year.

Dark Reign.

Fantastic 2D RTS... innovative, flexible and balanced game design from an Australian outfit that was YEARS ahead of it's time... all those things that later RTS's like Starcraft and Dawn of War took for granted as standard?

Dark Reign pioneered them... unit grouping, build queues, waypoints, rally points, multiple buildings of the same type contributing to production speed and resource efficiency, and units visibility determined by terrain...

Moreover it did it using text-based xml/config files allowing for complete modability and flexibility.

Unfortunately the game never achieved much more than a cult following as it got drowned out by the number of TA fanboi's fapping over a game that's main selling point was "Build ALL the Units!!!!1111oneone" rather than intelligent game design.

The Dark Reign sequel? Garbage... and so damned bad that even if you find someone who's aware the first game existed, the chances that they know the second game existed are dubious at best.

As for COD? Yeah, ok, COD4 was fun, and the first COD game had it all over MOH or MOHAA. But like any good thing, eventually the lure of the dollar becomes too much, and they went full ******... (inb4 "You can totally throw a knife in someone's eye")

Far Cry: 2, loved the first one, but number 2 was just so hard to get into, way to much driving and so boring.

Far Cry 3 looks alright though, so let's see how that goes.

All the Guitar Hero games after GH3

Good call.

Activision almost admitted as much, when they said in hindsight they should have bought Harmonix too, not just the game and controller makers.

Being Harmonix, I see Rock Band 1,2,3 as the proper sequels to Guitar Hero 1 & 2. Neversoft and Activision ruined GH from number 3 onwards IMO. That battle thing in GH3 was stupid. Then they removed that and cloned Rock Band for GH:World Tour and then played catch up until the death, while Rock Band smashed GH out of the ballpark by concentrating on DLC.

Unfortunate the best game of both series, Rock Band 3, came along when many people had jumped off guitar games.

Resistance 2

I will never forgive them for ruining the local co-op on that one.

Co-op in the first one was the single player campaign with two players, and one of the most fun co-op games I'd played.

Co-op in the second one was the class based online mutiplayer maps, but as two player local co-op. And then on top of that, player two's stats/leveling could not be saved, because you could not login to two PSN accounts at the same time. :thumbsd: That was resolved in a later update I believe (I never returned to the game) - after Sony updated firmware to allow two logins.

Resistance 3 thankfully returned to the co-op single player campaign like #1, and was a also pretty good game.

FC2 was amazing. The only one in the series I have played.

FC3 looks to be much of the same which I like.

Can not wait for it.

I can understand both sides.

While I've only had limited time on FC1, I've played through FC2 1.5 times.

First time I played through half of it, traded it in after I got bored as it was just getting repetitious with no real satisfaction in the story. Also got too much time into the other games that were out at the time.

2nd time I picked it up late last year at $15 off the PS Store and was determined to finish it (from the start as I didn't have my previous save). Plus I had very little else that I was interested in finishing or playing.

I got through it, but again the last quarter-half of the game really dragged on.

I still enjoyed the game for the most part. But I could see there were some glaring faults with the game as well. Which is why I'm really looking forward to Far Cry 3, as the errors in Far Cry 2 were pretty bloody obvious to anyone so should be easy to rectify.

The long drives between missions, the bounty hunters constantly on your arse, the ok but not solid shooting mechanics, the relatively bland mission playouts.

All of that can and looks to have been fixed with Far Cry 3 and it's easily one of my most anticipated games because of it.:thumbsu:

Halo 3. Well, they should have made a Halo 3, just not the game they made. Tarnished a sci-fi epic.
How so mate. thought it followed on nicely and tied it all up well. wish mass effect 3 did the same.
Duke Nukem Forever

This times a million. Bioshock 2 also a good call. so bland.

Hanging for a shadow complex sequel

Also re far cry 2...still remains one of my favourite games this gen...maybe the favourite.

Had flaws...but was at least innovative. loved it

The first two Spyro games were good. I never played the 3rd one, but the newer games were pretty poor.

Third one was good too, probably my favourite.

But yes, after that they became shit.

I wouldn't mind HD remakes of the first three.

I must be in the minority for most things.

DNF was nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be. Dubious design decisions, bugs and the loading time was god awful, but apart from that, it's an entertaining game with great level design.

Dark Reign 2 was excellent fun as well.
