The Italian football season begins again this weekend! Barely any time to breathe from the end of last season...

Reigning League champions: Juventus
Reigning Coppa Italia champions: Napoli
CL reps: Juve, Inter, Atalanta and Lazio
EL reps: Roma, Milan and Napoli
Promoted teams: Benevento, Spezia and Crotone

This season's representation:

Will Juve return to playing entertaining football under Pirlo?

Will Inter not actually have any internal fighting for once?

Will Atalanta continue on like the last 2 seasons?

Will Milan keep playing like that did post-COVID?

Will Lazio play again like they did pre-COVID?

Will Roma not be decimated by injuries for once?

Will Napoli actually be able to avoid always hitting the crossbar/post and finish off their chances now with Osimhen in the team?

If the answer is yes to all of the above, we're in for a fun and high quality season!! :tearsofjoy:

You'd be a brave man to bet against Juve for the title, but i genuinely think Inter can win it this season.

Inter should have beaten us last year, they just lack that winning mentality.

Fiorentina are building an interesting side.

Sofyan Amrabat is a gifted all-round midfielder, while Bonaventura and Valero (a Fiorentina icon) add experience to compensate for the side's relative youth.

All three add some badly needed creativity. When I saw them in November, they were far too reliant on Castrovilli and his driving runs. It also takes the pressure to create off Ribery.

I'm sceptical of Iachini as a coach, but this squad is talented enough to finish in the Top 10.

Are ac Milan a threat for the title? Great form at the end of last season.

Can we expect any changes to penalty interpretations 😂

Probably not but this is the most i've liked/rated them for several years.

Haven't lost anyone of note and have added 2 nice talents in Brahim Diaz and Sandro Tonali.

Top 4 should absolutely be a target for them.

A long history to explain that one. And the north do look down on the south

They're arguably two different countries.

The further south you go, the more run-down everything looks. Rome IMO was definitely more run-down than Venice, Milan or Turin.

Quite a few northerners have never travelled south of Rome.

Yeah was shocked how run down Rome looked when I was there 5 years ago. Overgrown weeds eveythere, potholes on major roads, buses rundown many have caught fire.

Playing better football, but not sure about them defensively

Feel they still lack a hard edge which used to be a trademark of theirs back when they had Gattuso, Nesta etc

Victor Osimhen was so exciting last night when he came on, completely changed the game.

We know what we'll get this season from the usual suspects, but Osimhen and Lozano are the two that can elevate this team. Positive start.

Fiorentina won their opener 1-0 against Torino. Good start for La Viola.

Yep, we dominated the game, albeit against a poor opponent.

We'll be even better with Amrabat, but we're still badly missing someone who can actually finish.

Bit surprised it wasn't on Kayo last night, early game and Parma exactly aren't minnows and have some pedigree (basically from their 1990s successes)

Seemed weird going by what games they did show later last night, like Sassuolo Cagliari and Genoa Crotone...

Yikes, Roma given a 3-0 loss as punishment vs Hellas Verona (game finished 0-0).

They mistakenly registered Amadou Diawara (23) in the under-22 section of their squad, meaning he was ineligible to play in the match.

They're the rules i guess, but tough punishment. They have 7 days to appeal.

Wouldn’t it be fairer if they just deducted points from Roma. Unfair to other teams that Verona gets the points and those points become decisive at end of year

Some of them are getting on now, but Inter's depth in midfield is pretty remarkable.

Barella, Eriksen, Brozovic, Vidal, Sensi, Nainggolan, Perisic...
