Wanted to know in regards to Warnock.... We have officially offered pick 24.... why did we start off so high? If we don't do a deal with fremantle he is going into the national draft and Freo get nothing... Why didn't we start out with our pick 40 or whatever it is and bargain from there?

Looks like its pick #24 or nothing which is fine, but I was just wondering why we didn't try with pick #40 ?

Because they didn't want to upset freo, just came out and said what they think was reasonable. 24 is reasonable anyway.

agreed. But we know how these things play out. Freo will hold out for more, we wont budge, then in the last few hours The Purple Ones will panic about losing him for nothing and take the deal

If it pans out that way, we should of started lower
The only reason we have of giving our best offer straight up is to get it over and done with

We are no pushover club when it comes to doing deals, nor are we one that others dont like to deal with, our reputation at doing deals is fairly good Freo know this, Freo also know Warnock is out of there, if this deal can get done early in the trade week it will help both clubs as they try to bolster there list, its a good move imo from the blues.

We've got some pretty accomplished wheelers and dealers at the club now, and I'm confident they know who's worth what. I'm similarly confident that Freo have a butt-load of work to do over the entire draft and trading period, and won't be haggling unecessarily.

As for us I think this will be the only major play throughout trading week.
