Seven's abhorrent Brownlow coverage

This wasnt even the worst one.

Remember Mick molloy's live stand up segment?

Remember fat Alex Lloyd, a guy who hasn't been relevant since the early 00s, making meatloaf sound good?

Remember Mike Fitzpatrick getting the imperial death march music? (Actually no, that was great...)

Remember Demetriou's 5 second pauses after reading out the team or initial? (Starting about 4 rounds into the count)

That was amazing

Daisy is all class and very refreshing. So too Erin Philips, she seems like a natural up on stage. Bruce is a legendary broadcaster and MC but it was uncomfortable last night when he interviewed Dusty. Bruce, the kid clearly wanted to get the **** on with s**t and cearly did NOT want to be asked about his dad in 5 different ways.

I thought it was just me thinking "WTF are you doing channel 7" when playing hello darkness my old friend and Majak Daw "who can't hide anywhere". I'm not one of those people who gets all uppity about PC stuff, but come on...that was so so bad. Really what were they thinking?

The other thing I noticed that I didn't remember in previous years was the press conference after the whole ceremony had ended. Why channel 7, why? Dusty looked massively uncomfortable and all those journos just asked him the same old crap he'd been asked before. Surely they had enough content from Bruce's creepy exchange when he accepted the medal without needing to interrogate him for more crap?
Erin Phillips? She stuttered and stammered and had no idea! Wouldn't have known what the day was even if she looked at a calendar

Harsh, I thought she was one of the only positive things to come from the night. She's succinct and has a very good understanding of the game. I would rather her hosting than all the other Channel 7 flogs.

Here we go again the whole Steven Bennett "silver is better than gold" argument.

Just go buy a Sega Saturn and be done with it.

I enjoyed it this year. Getting the girls involved in more than just the red carpet side of things really lifts the night.

Female host once Bruce gives it away? Thought his partner on the floor (daisy (?) ) was great, she could handle the whole thing.

Surely a troll, she is insufferable, thrusted into the media by the AFL/Channel 7 for no other reason than she is a female footballer, no merit, just a really average footballer who somehow garnered some form of reputation amongst the ones who makes decisions.

Why did they play the line "hello darkness my old friend" from the song The Sounds of Silence with vision of Majak Daw getting the spray off Brad Scott? I'm sure some social justice warriors might interpret that the wrong way.

I'll concede that I too thought that it was extremely odd and definitely had some form of extra effort put into it.
Definitely not for the reasons you are suggesting though... (Daw being black and reference to "darkness").

The count on 10 used to have a quick recap of most games each round, which was the highlight of the night. Nice refresher heading into the Grand Final. This current format sucks.

Yeah it isn't her fault they have thrown her out there though. Agree, she's ******* useless.

Ohh no AFLW Mark and Goal of the Year winners presented the respective AFL awards last night, we must revolt!

I think the biggest problems are blurring the lines between the two codes. ie. comparing AFLW and AFL players on All-Australians and premierships, as though they're the same thing, or introducing a female player as the Melbourne captain at an AFL men's night. If they could separate the two a bit more, nobody would have a problem.

When you do a summary of the round, I want to see best players, big marks and goals, not players getting hit in the nuts. Save that crap for The Front Bar.

Seven's attempted humour falls flat every time, so give it up.

Stop reading out votes by rounds, read them out by team with the rounds unknown.

They used to do that. It caused so much anger when people said - 'I had so-and-so for 5 BOGs and he's only got 3, so I want to know the games he missed out on. Outrage!' etc.....

They would read the one-votes, the 2-votes and then the 3s. So absolutely nothing significant would happen until about 10 o'clock. The good bit about it was Jack Hamilton used to quietly shuffle the 3-votes of the leaders to the back of the pack he was holding. So at about 10.25 you would have the leaders on about 8 votes and the favorites nowhere. There was always someone in the top 3 at that point who hadn't been invited, but had picked up a handful of 2-votes, and so there was talk of sending search parties, police escorts etc......

Then in the last 5 minutes, Bartlett, Greig, Hardemann, Dempsey, Matthews and co would get all the votes. A couple of times the winner only got to the front with the last vote of the night.
