And speaking of Aussie involvement, didn't Dichen Lachman excel when given the chance to shine in this episode? I can only imagine how much time was spent prepping her for all the outfits she wore.

The unravelling just raised more questions for me and was pretty messy. Just an episode I wanted to fast forward through to get the information going forward rather than actually enjoying the episode itself

Thats the point. Look at any series 2 to 3 eps from the finale. They arent giving it all that early

We aren't 2 or 3 eps from the finale. There are way too many loose ends still going for this series to wrap up at the end of this season

I don’t mind it as there appears that there’s going to be a third season, so they can’t reveal everything. And sometimes finishing a show with a little ambiguity can be a good thing anyway- on the Prestige podcast they have Damon Lindelof (of Lost/the Leftovers) talking about this.

I liked the more intense use of film grain to convey the flashback. Such a beautifully shot show.

I'm talking about the season, not the series. Read up about Dan Harmon's story circle. We're obviously going to get some key answers at the end of the season where I think we're going to know a lot more about what's going on at Lumon. The direction from there could go a number of ways.

Side opinion but I HATE things being unanswered and writers just being like its up to you to decide what happened. Would take an unsatisfying ending over one that leaves things open to interpretation any day

It either works or it doesn’t, and that’s often up to the quality of the director. None of Inception, The Thing, 2001 and No Country For Old Men suffer from an ambiguous ending and are likely made better for it. There’s nothing better than having to think about the ending of a movie days or weeks later.
