Has anyone heard which player or from what team the player is from, who was accused of sexual assault last week.
Evidently it was after the girls 18th birthday and happened at Albert Park lake.
I read in the paper on Saturday that it was a player from the Bulldogs. But this is all alleged at the moment as from what I have heard, no charges have been made.
Lion Bear
No it was definitely the girls 18th birthday that was held at Crown Casino, she evidently went home in a taxi with the player, but they stopped at Albert Park Lake, where allegedly the incident took place. I was only interested to find out which club he was from & just hoping it wasn't a Bomber.
know who it was from someone close to the person, dont want to say who it was but it wasnt a bomber so dont worry there, it was from a melbourne club and its not the first time for this person, although the first incident is yet to be proved
From memory Neitz was convicted and fined $400. Carey got a 12 month good behaviour bond and ,I'm not sure, but I think the fine may be considered the higher penalty but the difference in media coverage (particularly from Neil Mitchell) was stark.
From what I heard, the Lions players have said they are guilty, and are facing trial after the footy season, and the Lions have an open chequebook to make it all go away. This from a frined who is a member of the constabulary.
What worries me is that it is now about a quarter or MORE of the 16 AFL teams that have had players investigated in the last 12 months!!!!!
Then the clubs open chequebooks - filled with members and sponsors money - to bail em all out!!
Stuff that, if these ppl did what they are accused of, they should out on their own to deal with it!!!!! With all these 'sexual assault' investigations that turn into cover-ups the clubs really show their true colours.
How many members of clubs are women and children???? Where are the clubs social and moral responsibilities???? All caught up in the "old boys network", I would think!!!!
Danni I agree with you.
It is a case of boys will be boys syndrome, not very PC these days, but they're getting away with it because clubs don't want to lose players.
It could prove very dangerous if these guys think they can do anything & get away with it.
One player from one particular Melbourne based club has not learnt his lession, because years ago he was bailed out with the open the wallett syndrome.
Pity really. As Danni said, a fair prcentage of all members of all clubs are women.
You do the crime you do the time. No excuses, no coverups.
Pure trash they are, the players involved and the clubs.
I suppose the players are to be commended for having the balls to own up for their sins. The clubs are dispicable.
