Hey Gralin

Help! What’s wrong with Penny? She’s not going through brumation bc it’s it’s not winter but she’s been hiding for 2 days now. She does come out to eat her greens and chase crickets and stuff but she keeps going back to her hide.

Im peaking! She’s been good as gold other than that.

Advice please?

Has she shed properly? Sometimes they get bits stuck

And need a bath

Sidebar rhey can zoom around in shallow water it's pretty funny

I'm assuming you've got a UV lamp in the tank and that you turn the lights off at night so she can sleep?

Beardys need actual dark to sleep

Yep and I cover the tank.

Only thing that is different is the pet shop side yesterday suggested a meal worm like a snack. Like we have maccas. So she had one yesterday.

Could her tummy be off?

She looks a bit bloated and I can’t see a poo for today so maybe she’s feeling a bit meh!

But she ate crickets and greens last night.

I also noticed when u came home yesterday she was flat on her tummy in the sand…. Like flat but she got up to chase a cricket.

She’s asleep in her hide right now and the lights are on still.

Awww! I hope she’s okay.

What do I do. And regarding the shed.. only her tail has shed so far this time.

Ours went all pale and flat and wouldn't move and then a few hours later was fine


You got a reptile vet you can take her to if you need?

She got a heat lamp and UV which get turned off 8pm every night

Moisture helps so you can spray bottle her or give her a bath

Penny just had another bath and the rest of the shed fell away. She’s a happy little lass now. Even gave me a wee cuddle.

Those colours are fabulous. I hope she turns a wicked colour like that. But her happiness is important.

I even picked up a water spray bottle and sprayed her tank. So the fake leave looked like a rain forest. She even licked the moisture.

AND I joined 3 Beardy groups on FB today so the knowledge there from other owners is invaluable
