Exactly. Match threads don't need to be stickied while were on the topic. If a team can't keep the match day thread on the main page they should have their license stripped.

Just so we're clear on this, Boncer and you claim that it's the mods fault that the rules are not in a sticky thread, yet, as that thread above proves, Boncer is the OP of the currently stuck rules thread and as such the rules are also not stuck because he's an ignorant individual who was callous to anyone who asked for a link to this thread in the one above who also chose to edit the OP of said thread on Oct 3, one month prior to this threads creation.

I'm all for fixing the "problem" to stop a recurrence, but the blame lies with everyone for being lazy, ignorant, unhelpful and generally acting in a way that is not conductive to fixing the issue, not just whichever "branch" tickles your fancy today.

The only reason I'm even attempting to throw Boncer under the bus is largely because he's attempting to deflect blame because he can't remember a month ago after seeing it stuck daily and responding to inquiries in the thread when Juggs decided to use it to ask for the rules. 3rd of October edit, 3rd of November this thread was created and no one's questioning him and instead questioning the mods? Get your hands off it.

Everyone, who knew of the location of and the link to, who saw the inquiry to Juggs request and beez attempting to help him out shares blame for what happened because they are the only ones who had the knowledge and information to fix the problem before it occurred. That it still has not been rectified is an indictment on these people and their callous approach to dealing with people that it becomes an easier choice to just penalise the people who broke the rules and move on.

So, also, for the record, I am of course disputing the application of these penalties, but as a VC am only able to fire off PM's or make sweeping public statements.

Just so you're aware, the emphasis was on the "everyone", not you specifically, but then you have my reply so I'm happy to continue this dialogue in either way, just as I will be happy to remove that post if it is deemed to be inflammatory to resolving the situation at hand.

You'll find that really we both want the same thing in progress in the public face of the SFA, I just want the attachment that those of us chewed up and thrown out by this particular instance absolved of the attached penalty or that others who share blame are equally penalised with us. In effect, what I am after is also equality.

As I am saying that through inaction the mods hold blame, through ignorance we hold blame, and through inaction & deflection, you hold blame.

The mods did not act to assist you to make the current rules public.
We did not act to know the current rules in their entirety and commit them to memory.
You did not edit a post to make them public (the sticky option where the query was asked), or assist the query (answer the question posed) to locate the rules prior to the issue arising.

The alternative of course is to apply the penalties to the teams of those extra individuals as well, although I'm sure we'd all be better off with the former removal method instead, less finger pointing and arguments.

BTW my official answer is the captains have had the rules for awhile. I believe it's never slid below the top 3 threads on our board. So the points stand.

So those of us without access are being treated as if we had access? Is this not an unrealistic approach to take to making a decision? That "because someone else knew you should know" is somewhat nonsensical. Also, since I am without access to these instances you speak of, that would, by definition, make me ignorant of whatever happens in them, as it would anyone without access.

Every club captain has access to them.

Then I regret to say that my confidence in the "systems" in place is diminished, as I find that since you share blame with us for the issue arising, that any decision you make in enforcement would be compromised, culminating in a farce. As such, since there are no more avenues to challenge upon and it's well established where I stand on the matter, I'll cop the penalty then.

I thought it was harsh for the Demons when Juggs took over. EBIAC left without any intstructions. The next match thread stated 'teams due friday evening' and as Juggs wasnt around, I was trying to leave it to the last minute as I didnt want to 'steal his thunder' and post the first team sheet since he became captain. I looked in the other rules thread and it didnt mention any time at all, so I just presumed it was midnight, which was my mistake.

That being said, I guess rules are rules, but next time it wouldnt go astray if a new captain was given a set of instructions, or the opening post of the other thread actually had the info needed.

Hard to get grumpy about it with a 5/7 record. With 3 teams copping the penalty it really shouldn't cost us a spot in the finals.

As of late, there has been an increase of threads being created. While the activity is good, a lot of these are shit. Maybe this is being spurred on by all these 'rating threads', 'poster of the week' etc. They are good, don't get me wrong, but there's way too many shit thread cloggers be created.

Just want to put it out there, whether anything can be done or not that doesn't discourage posting etc.
