It is six.

Dragons FFC (then as Southern Dragons) held the record for a long time having a run of six matches which started with the Season 08 Elimination Final and finished with the Season 15 First Semi Final.

Gumbies FFC have now tied that streak with their own six match losing streak in finals stretching from the Season 21 Grand Final until the Season 27 Second Semi Final. This is of course still an active streak.

Other active streaks include West Coast Wonders with five losses (Season 24 First Preliminary Final to Season 26 First Semi Final) and Gold City Royals with four losses (Season 22 First Preliminary Final to Season 27 First Elimination Final).
