The other alternative it to remove the Old Boys from the league entirely. Removes a whole heap of these needless complexities. So just looking at this, it would just make sense to eliminate the byes and combine these two rounds together.
Only OOB play twice across both weeks and if they're up for it, we'll have every team playing in the final week of the season... something looking like this
Round 15 - Friday, November 10, 2023
Mount Buller Demons v Dragons FFC @ Snow Dome
Las Vegas Bears v East Side Phoenix @ The Stadium in the Sky
Sin City Swamprats v Coney Island Warriors @ Underground Stadium
Baghdad Bombers v Ophidian Old Boys @ Abdu Prison
Fighting Furies v Roys FFC @ rfctigerarmy's hippodrome
Gold City Royals v Gumbies FFC @ Outback Arena
Ophidian Old Boys v West Coast Wonders @ Spotswood Oval
Heck, I am speaking on their behalf but I think the Wonders and OOB would be open to an idea a little unique - we could potentially play our match mid-week or otherwise have a Friday or Monday night game as an aside.
damicky HARPSichord Robertio Tigerturbulance - your thoughts?
Positives:
Negatives:
- Brings the Grand Final date one week earlier which gives us all more time over the off-season.
- Could then bring forward the awards dates to be well before Christmas break.
- Eliminates 12/13 club's 2nd byes (there's no argument for wanting a bye if it's for a "break" if it's at the end of the season anyway)
- Ensures everyone plays in the final round of the home and away season
- Season hasn't started yet, super easy to make the change now.
- Another great idea by ClarkeM so of course we don't want to do it

It’s greatly appreciated.
