SFA TEAM OF THE WEEK, ROUND 17

HB: Big Turls (Wonders) One_eyedtiger (Furies) Wiskers32 (Dragons)
C: Eliminator28 (Gumbies) Roughie (Demons) Ninty (Gumbies)
HF: Chezwick (Dragons) Skippos (Wonders) Bachar Houli (Bombers)

R: Postmanpav (Wonders) Peterss (Gumbies) Cleishy (Furies)

I/C: Big Man (Hawks) Equus (Furies)

Backs
Jim Boy - 1 possession, 1 goal. Kept the opposing forward pocket to 1 behind.
Ben The Gooner - 11 possessions, 3 marks. Held Pie 4 Life to 1.1.
Coin_Toss - 19 possessions, 2 marks. 19 possessions from full back is a tremendous effort, also kept EFL Boy to 2 goals.

Half Backs
Big Turls - 18 possessions, 6 marks, 1 free for.
One_eyedtiger - 18 possessions, 3 marks, 1 tackle, 2 frees for. Great effort, gathering 18 disposals from CHB and keeping the opposing CHF to 1 goal.
Wiskers32 - 20 possessions, 9 marks, 1 tackle, 1 free against.

Centres
Eliminator28 - 29 possessions, 10 marks, 4 tackles, 4 frees for, 1 free against. That is one hell of an effort from the wing and also in a losing side.
Roughie - 28 possessions, 6 marks, 1 free for, 1 behind. This was his first appearance in the middle and his dominance nearly got Mt Buller over the line.
Ninty - 28 possessions, 10 marks, 3 tackles, 2 frees against, 1 behind. Was one of the shining lights in the Gumbies performance.

Half Forwards
Chezwick - 23 possessions, 9 marks, 1 tackle, 1 free against, 3 behinds. Ryan O'Keefe-esque.
Skippos - 16 possessions, 3 marks, 2 frees against, 5 goals. One of the best games you will ever see from a CHF.
Bachar Houli - 18 posessions, 4 marks, 1 tackle, 1 free for, 1 free against, 2 behinds.

Forwards
Walker's A Legend - 4 possesions, 1 tackles, 3 goals, 1 behind.
Winty - 11 possessions, 1 mark, 2 tackles, 1 free for, 4 goals, 5 behinds. Fantastic game, 9 scoring shots tells the story.
MagpieGirl - 8 possessions, 3 marks, 3 goals, 2 behinds. Good game from the forward pocket.

Rucks
Postmanpav - 15 hitouts, 34 possessions, 3 tackles, 5 frees for, 4 frees against, 5 goals, 1 behind. Absolutely amazing game from arguably the best ruckman in the competition this season.
Peterss - 30 possessions, 10 tackles, 3 frees for, 3 frees against, 2 goals, 2 behinds. Really stood up when nobody else would.
Cleishy - 40 possessions, 10 tackles, 5 frees for, 2 frees against, 4 goals. Incredible.

Interchange
Big Man - 29 possessions, 7 tackles, 6 frees for, 3 frees against, 2 goals, 3 behinds. Very influential performance.
Equus - 13 hitouts, 31 possessions, 5 tackles, 3 frees for, 2 frees against, 5 goals, 2 behinds. 'Nuff Said.

This and the GC/BC thread are both copies of mine on the RFFL, yet I don't even get in the team?

Haha, na mate I love it. Anything that keeps the activity up is great :thumbsu:

Making a team of the week is harder than it looks/sounds so I didn't want to have to do it for two leagues, so I am happy you have :thumbsu:

Great post, and I am very happy I got selected. Just letting you know it wasnt my first apperance in the mids for the Demons, I have been there for the majority of the season.

But seriously great effort you put into this man! Much appreciated, good job!

GC/BC is a rip off from Bay 13 and the team of the week was started by the SFA last year. Good attempt to try and claim some credit though.:thumbsu:

Good job mate :thumbsu:

Bit weird to see four of our players in there when we got smashed.
... and the fact that only one Hawk made the side in a win, and that was on the interchange bench.

If you're gonna do this sort of thing, at least do it properly and take into account the conditions and opposition performance during the game.

Individual statistics aren't the world.

Well considering the team of the week is based on individual performance I would say that that indicator is clearly the most important. Yes, you can take all those things into account but at the end of the day you are just picking the best individuals in those positions.

It's true even the AFL Team Of The Week or Team of the round is worked around statistics and shut down jobs.

Oh look a member of a team that has the shit kicked out of it every week is an advocate for statistics being the main factor behind the team being picked. What a suprise.

No it's not, it's worked around individual player performance, statistics are a frame of reference. The effect that a player has on a game is also accounted for, which it isn't in this team.

Otherwise you wouldn't have four players from one losing side playing in the team of the week and just the one from a winning side.
