Top two seeds sent packing as new finalists emerge

UNSEEDED hard court specialist JT has stunned the Brisbane International by destroying world number one JackNah 6-0 6-2 in a performance which no-one at the court saw coming. The Belgium number one seed has been prone to poor first sets, dropping her second consecutive set 6-0 after doing the same against Loonerty in the semi-finals. But this time the second set also belonged to the Mongolian, who after dropping the first game, won five consecutive games to lead 5-1. JackNah fought back to hold onto one game, but ultimately JT was far too strong, winning 6-0 6-2. The only problem for JT was fitting his head back into the changerooms ;)

Over on the other court, the world number two and three were playing, with Dennis Martínez García Ramírez de Lopez of Mexico taking on Germany's EJW. It was a might tighter affair with EJW winning the first two games before Lopez went on a run, taking out five of the next six games to lead 5-3. Luckily the German fought back to win four games of his own and take the set 7-5. The pair traded blows in the second set with no-one seemingly able to stay consistent, winning two games in a row for a score of 4-4 with Lopez eventually taking the set 6-4 with a weird five breaks in that game. In the decider, the world number two looked certain to face JT in the final. EJW won four of the first five games, before Lopez stormed home to win five consecutive games and book a spot in the final 5-7 6-4 6-4.

wow i didnt expect that result. Now I need a break.

Good luck Lopez
Probably an update of points. It's no surprise for this tournament, JT chose to put his bonus hard court points where he wanted them and it has helped to date. EJW updated as well. Lopez for the next tourney.

It's why it's a great game - easy as piss to run, but quite fun as it plays to egos. You can put in as little or as much as you like - if you want me to randomise points, great. If you sent in default points like you and others have, even better. If you enjoy it enough to change your points to tweak your game and take advantage of your bonus points, then you'll be a step up on those that don't.

I mean, there's every chance a seed could lose to a randomly simmed points player. But it's much less chance. So there's always a chance for upsets which is great, but those that use their points and think tactically, they will likely do better because they have placed them in certain parts. But one player could do against another, doesn't mean they could have anywhere near the same result against a third player.

Also JT does have seven hard court points (4/5 more than most). So just wait until we hit clay and grass court seasons ;)
My aim is to be seeded by then so I can get an easier run. :p

Bad luck JackNah, it was always going to happen...

Now, Mr. Lopez... Ready to lose?

Lopez triumphs in surprising straight sets win

THE Mexican maestro with the longest name on the SFA tour has ended the giant-killing run of hard court specialist JT. In what was somewhat of a surprise result given Lopez' close calls in recent games and JT's one-sided results, it proved the true closeness of the SFA tour when Lopez triumphed 6-3 6-4.

JT started as strong as usual, winning three of the first four games before the Mexican kicked into action, winning five games on the trot and stealing the first set from the Mongolian 6-3. In almost identical fashion, JT stormed out of the blocks to win the first four games before Lopez piled on the pressure in the fifth game and never let go, running away with the victory 6-3 6-4. In just 17 game, we had a streak of six, five and four consecutive games between the pair.

JT's good form is likely to continue as the hard court season continues, but for Lopez, he is now the new number one ranked player heading into the Sydney International.
