Hmmm I'll change it up a bit next time. Do you tag us or do we have to keep our eye on the place?

Usually I just post the thread, but can tag if needed. Most see it as I have the thread up for 3-4 days before points are due. Then run he tournament the next 3-4 days.

I try to mix my tactics up from round to round, and if a combination is successful I'll sometimes reuse it.

Haven't had that much success so far although most of my points are in Grass and Clay so hopefully things will start to change.

SEEDS BEGIN TO TUMBLE AS LESSER LIGHTS SHINE ON CLAY

THERE was a sense that the tide was beginning to turn in the round of 16 at Rio, with three seeds bundled out and another two almost packing their bags as well. Number two seed Dennis Lopez trailed NinjaSwan 4-0 in the deciding set, before winning the last six games to pull off one of the great escapes of the season, to win 7-6 (6) 1-6 6-4 overall. Number three seed EJW was just as lucky, only scraping past new qualifier Smut O'Melton in three tight sets 6-2 6-7 (4) 6-4 with a number of tied games throughout the last set meaning the Irishman could have toppled the highly regarded German clay courter on his own surface. Meanwhile JackNah's return to form extended another round, victorious over fifth seed sportsmaniac89 who has made the past two semi-finals. All the other matches were straight sets with Loonerty the most unlucky, going the full distance in both sets with Fizzler, but just falling short, while dog_nah bowed out in similar circumstances to Nakia. Karnezis_13 made it two wins in a row and will now face EJW in the quarter finals after a regulation win over seventh seed haydo, while Frenchman reggie will face Nakia after dismissing nahnah in straight sets.

TOP FOUR ADVANCE DESPITE SOME CHALLENGES

FOR all the hope that the round of 16 brought with seeds exiting, the quarter finals were a reality check, as the top four seeds advanced through to the Rio Open semi-finals. The chinks in Mongolian number one seed JT's armour continued to show, taking three sets to defeat Fizzler, the sixth seed Australian. While Frenchman reggie has his challenges disposing of Nakia in three sets, 6-1 5-7 6-4. German claycourter EJW continued his good form with a straight sets win over Karnezis_13, while Dennis Lopez was too good for JackNah, setting the tone early in the set and winning 6-2 6-3. Now we see JT taking on reggie and EJW taking on Lopez for a spot in the final!

QUARTER FINALS RESULTS:

[1] JT (Mongolia) defeated [6] Fizzler (Australia) 4-6 | 6-2 | 6-1
[4] reggie (France) defeated Nakia (Netherlands) 6-1 | 5-7 | 6-4
[3] EJW (Germany) defeated Karnezis_13 (Seychelles) 6-4 | 6-4
[2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico) defeated JackNah (Belgium) 6-2 | 6-3

SEMI-FINALS:

[1] JT (Mongolia) vs. [4] reggie (France)
[3] EJW (Germany)
vs. [2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico)

Next I play Karnezis_13 who has the same bonus points as me.......eeek!!
Reminder that I (the player with absolutely no bonus points and even numbers go to my opposition) defeated K13 who had five bonus points lol.

CLAY? NO WORRIES AS TOP TWO FACE-OFF AGAIN

IN what has become more of a regular occurrence rather than a surprise, the top players on the SFA Tennis circuit will face off in the final of the Rio Open. Despite being weaker on clay, Mongolian world number one JT made it through to the final with yet another tight three sets win, defeating Frenchman fourth seed reggie, 6-2 4-6 7-5 to advance through to the final to face rival Dennis Lopez. The second seed Mexican stunned third seed clay court specialist EJW, racing out of the blocks to roll the German 6-2 6-2 and have an easier path to the final. The victories set up another classic JT-Lopez final in what will mark another chapter in their ongoing rivalry. The final will be posted later on today.

SEMI-FINALS RESULTS:

[1] JT (Mongolia) defeated [4] reggie (France) 6-2 | 4-6 | 7-5
[2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico) defeated [3] EJW (Germany) 6-2 | 6-2

FINAL:

[1] JT (Mongolia) vs. [2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico)

Also after much consideration, I reckon maxing out "form points" at 5 (rather than 10) is the way to go. I was a bit surprised JT did not lose in a couple of his matches - came bloody close - same with Lopez. I do want to see different people in the final, but from what I've seen it has been edging that way with closer matches. Just need someone to come up with a tactic to beat them haha.

FIVE TOURNAMENTS LATER AND LOPEZ GETS HIS REVENGE

IT has been a long time coming, but revenge was dish best served cold for Mexican world number two Dennis Lopez who defeated his arch nemesis, world number one Mongolian, JT. In traditional JT style, he started the final - going for his fifth consecutive title - quickly with a 3-1 lead. Lopez fought back and finished strongly with the last five games of the set to claim it 6-3. JT again got on top again winning the first four games before Lopez hit back again. The Mexican won the last six games of the match to claim a relatively surprising, and comfortable 6-3 6-4. Dennis ClarkeM was back on the winners list!

FINAL RESULTS:

[2] Dennis Lopez (Mexico) defeated [1] JT (Mongolia) 6-3 | 6-4
