Have just arrived home and have read all of the days corespondence, and RDOULTRY you are spot on the mark. The yarra's have mis lead the league in there application for special consideration, and the league as what most people have thought all along are sweeping it under the carpet. This aint finished with yet.....:mad:

is there any more on their list?? hmmm i wonder! i thought if you played both reserve and seniors on the same day it was only counted as one game and that being the higher grade which would make it another senior game! is that right?

I think he is pointing out that Brady played in both games against Mt Waverley, which means that the reserve game does not count towards games played and as such Brady has only played 3 reserve games for the year meaning that he isn't allowed to play for the reserves, as once again he does not qualify, is this correct Disco?

from what i can gather, if south yarra don't lose the points then it's a complete an utter fu*king disgrace. not enough players on the list? There is no way this actually happened, I do not believe for a second that that can be true, surely this is just a rumor??

thanks blokes this information will come in quite handy, but don't know if it'll do any good because the decision to allow brady to play came from holdsworth himself, so do you think he wants to look like the muppet that F$%%ed up?!?!? He obviously had the wool pulled over his eyes by yarra's or didn't check the law properly:mad:

Either that or he might make the comp look stupid in the eye's of Joe Q public for the second time in a month. !!!!

Come on Wayne or Yarra tell us what the exceptional circumstances, are if any? Use the website for it's purpose COMMUNICATE!!!!!!!!:(

I just had a look at my notes from the last time we played Yarra and i can't see Brady playing in the twos, even though he was on their team list i beleive he only played ones.I will stand to be corrected thou.

yeah good luck with that?,
seems as usual they are sitting on their hands as long as they can-
surely a decision would need to be made asap so both clubs can move on (either to mad monday or back on the track:D)

Brady definately didn't play 2's last time we played Yarra, but even if he was on the teamsheet, he has been listed on the Senior teamsheet enough times to make him ineligible to play Reserves, unless both sides play on the same day, as per the qualification rules. As Yarra don't play until this week, I do believe that they SHOULD be in strife!

If they SFL don't act on this, and we all know that they wont , whats to stop Doveton or Mount doing it in the remainder of the finals. I cant see how they can let Sth yarra get away with it and then punish another team for doing exactly the same thing.

Also Brady definitely didn't play reserves against us last time.

What an absolute joke the league or its CEO will be if nothing happens. Especially once the local papers get hold of it. I know if I was Canterbury id be contacting the papers, which would be an embarrassing situation for SFL.
Integrity has gone right out the door with the league and Sth Yarra. Or is it just plain cheating??????

have it on the best authority that he is playing seniors this week!!

Well that is dodgy then. The fact that he is still playing seniors this week is proof enough that he is a senior player for the club. Why don't Doveton just play Ramsdale in the twos this week and say they were short on numbers, it obviously doesn't matter how many senior games you've played.

As i heard the SFL told the Cobras that the player in question was not going to be allowed to play, this was on Monday night!! Then Holdsworth changed his tune the next day

Of course Doveton could ask the league for two players that haven't played more that 12 games in the seniors, both The Eagles and the Yarras had three teams so i am sure that Doveton would be in the same boat with injuries at this time of year???? (sorry that also goes for Mt)

Another thing is if i was a player that got dropped so Brady could play i would be pi$$ed off, image playing all year in the ressies and then getting pushed aside so the club can cheat their way into a Prelim.

Care to comment Big Rich or Bones!!

it's an option we hope we don't have to use, but considering my uncle works for the hearld sun, my runner works for 3AW and we have cntacts at sen, it would be in the leagues best interest to right a wrong. Or should we just rename it SFL - Soft football league or SFL - South yarra football league?

or frankencow?? you were one of those blokes that missed out!!

Any further developments? Surely the only logical solution is punishment. Whether it is through a fine, barring those players from playing this week, or something. Perhaps awarding the game to Canterbury is a bit harsh because it effectively knocks Yarra out of the entire competition, but then again Brady was hugely influential.

On to this weeks game, thoughts? Who will be the influential players, predicted result? Doveton have dominated all year, but Mount seem to be hitting a rare vein of form, and I will tip them to do better than their 1s this finals series, and win the whole thing. I think they will win on Saturday in a very tight game.

any chance of doveton claiming injuries and stacking the 2's with some senior players?
the rules have been thrown away it appears... SFL backflipped and the decision came from the top, rumour has it no further action from the leauge?
also looks that way, with no communication on the SFL website

deafening silence from the halls of the S.F.L.!!!! hopefully will know something either way soon, but seriously why doveton couldn't play anyone who have played between 10 and 12 games is a possibility at present. A precidence has been set by the Cheif Executive Officer. If i was you Kid i would be asking the league what the hell is going on? Not to mention the fact if mounts seniors win this week and the reserves loose, why can't they do the same. The Longer the league leave this the more this small sore could fester......
