Very close mates with Ambrose....
That they did mate. Cheers for the call last week!
Superfreak, one of those many players paul Fermanis? Seen a few blokes from chelt at the pub and they were saying u guys are chasing him hard???Maybe a mid to late pick for JT. Gone quiet on Lonergan, I'm not the biggest fan. Both Miles and O'Bree are closely related to Pittsy. I know they have been talking to a lot of blokes.

Good get by the Tunners who have signed Brad Sinclair as Coach. Has taken on some tough assignments in the past and won a few flags in EFL and EDFL.
Dingley have been building a bit of a money pit the last few years through way of a supporters Coterie Group. We have signed 2 from Phillip Island way, but have also had a dozen players be interviewed from other clubs only to be turned down from better offers. That's footy. We complain on here that we shouldn't be poaching SFL talent yet when you find out what players get in the EFL, Ellinbank, Pennisula, Cardinia Casey ect you will always end up paying overs for good average footballers.Spring Carnival always throws up some good rumours. While my allegiance is with a club in another comp I follow the SFL closely and have lots of mates involved across a few different clubs. Before you accuse me of being an agitator from outside I’m not - I am simply sharing some of what I have been told. It might all be garbage, some may have a hint of truth and some may be on the money. As they say don’t shoot the messenger.
For a club that generally flies under the radar St Pauls really in the news. Ambrose and Allen trying there luck at Port Melbourne but promising young defender Mc Carthy is coming back. James also rumoured to be returning. Simon Buckley was close to committing to the doggies but now looks certain to play in either the VFL or in the bush with a club on the Murray. Bruno playing at St Pauls for a very modest (by his standards) pay cheque said to be far less than what he would get at the farm or at other clubs. Obviously reasons beyond football at play there. In fact what Bruno is being paid is said to be less than what Dingley are forking out for a far less credentialed ex SLF Div 2 player mentioned above.
Clayton having a decent crack at a few players from a neighbouring VAFA club that has just been relegated. Rumoured offering well over the odds for C grade ammo players. To their credit they are once again having a red hot go at getting a Colts team up and running but finding it very tough.
Black Rock tested the waters with a very preliminary inquiry to the VAFA but VAFA not keen on taking them on. In the end they are happy to remain in the SFL and will cop their lumps. Led to believe that some from within the Oakleigh ammos have put the feelers out for a transfer to the SFL but consensus is that will remain in the VAFA. (Not convinced there is much truth in either of these so make up your own mind)
Now I can just see Fish 20 coming off the long run with this one! Rumour Bentleigh not all that happy in the SFL and some from within the club have flagged a possible return to the VAFA. The expected financial windfall through grog sales and player returns due to participating in a local comp has not quite panned out as expected. Also they don’t believe enough clubs support the U18s comp and they are frustrated with the poor standard, number of blowouts and forfeits, which is impacting on the ability to attract good young players. Just cannot believe this one myself but have now heard it from two separate sources both of who are generally credible.

We also heard Bruno isn't on big money at St Pauls but may be having an extension put on his house. Not sure on the size of the extension but I'm assuming 10 - 15K's worth. Good luck to them. It makes sense to have a few boys chip in their labour.

Fish your comment on Forrest signing at Dingley?Off the long run I come
If it looks like garbage, smells like garbage & sounds like garbage, then it probably is
Hahahaha, returning to the VAFA after two seasons could not be further from our agenda. Not sure who you were talking to but they were definitely not at our AGM & no-one flagged their disapproval whatsoever about being in the SFL. This has actually got me stumped why anyone would tell you this??It was actually motioned & seconded (unopposed) at that AGM that we continue in the SFL. It is common knowledge that we were sick of the travel & disillusioned by the VAFA's admin & wanted to play local footy, which is why we're here. We were excited to re enter the SFL in 2011 & held our colts together at the club by doing so.
Playing out the back of Hoppers Crossing...not so much
There is a fraction of truth about the colts though which is why the Bentleigh Football Club is on the front foot about helping the league secure the future of the colts competition. It will strengthen more clubs like the Hamptons, Hallams & Highetts so they can hold onto their young players that aren't ready to step into senior or lose them to the VAFA. Can't say we don't have the future of the SFL at the forefront of our minds. You also can't say we've had an inability to attract young players when 6 colts came from other teams this year & helped the colts win the premiership.
There is no way, absolutely not a snow ball's chance in hell under the current Bentleigh committee that we return to the Ammos. We are in the black financially once again making a profit & attracted extra senior players all because we entered back into the SFL comp. Our aim is to one day get ourselves in SFL Div 1, form & playing list permitting, not go into D4 if the Ammos would even have us back.
Garbage indeed
Fish your comment on Forrest signing at Dingley?
Luke Forrest & another from Phillip Island (runner up in b&f) signed at Dingley.
From the sounds of it bit of money involved also.
Mahalo you know much of this?
A blow for the Tunners and may pave the way for Einseidel to return to East Brighton for a swansong as he was in the Phillip Island mix so I hearMoved to Gippsland and has accepted coaching job at Phillip Island FC.
I dont know about the other CT but apparently Forrest is on the way.
It seems that St.Pauls are in for every player that is out there including Forrest but on this occassion we signed him.
Looks to be a good size, can he play???
From the sounds of it the mate is definately coming also.
Being good mates with Forrest I had him close to playing for St Pauls for nothing, but then from sounds of it got an offer from Dingley which was good enough for him to accept. He can play, haven't seen him play in a while but he used to dominate 19's when we were teammates for stpauls/bentleigh merged side.
Would be a handy key defender or foward that can pinch hit in the ruck
