Correct. They want out. Keysy Fields is a great surface, but the location isn't attractive. Makes it particularly difficult to recruit in ammos footy without the lure of the almighty dollar.

That's bullshit. Old Mentonians established a relationship last season and will play 3 home games at Turner Rd in 2013. Highett are definitely in struggle town, but they'll come out the other end. They've got a strong junior program. They just need to ensure the pathway is there to nurture the next generation through to become senior footballers.

So Highett struggling and Heatherton with no 2nds or play their Dad's Army over 35's. It is going to be a shambolic season with some huge scores being kicked against these hapless teams. Not good for the SFL and the League management have to take blame in this debacle. You have Murrumbeena, Skye and Bentleigh which are well run and organized clubs playing in 2nd Division. The League needs to become more proactive otherwise the SFL will quickly become the joke of Metro Football.

How did Dingley fare against Oakleigh on Saturday?

Won by an easy 10 goals! It must be said that Oakleigh had some pretty good talent, the same standard of player in SFL Div 1 would be asking 200 - 400 a week.

Just a word on our ground, the surface is magnificent. Your clubs will enjoy their visits to The Den this year, other than hopefully the ar5e kicking that you will be in for:)

Hearing some major rumblings out of CH, they might be on a really bad slide......... been absolutely smashed in their practice matches.

We heard about the offseason losses of Dalton and Fitcher (not huge losses), but Murphy was just about their best midfielder and has been unsighted, I'm hearing Walsh is injured, Moor's done a knee, Terech has a broken leg and Barr is unavailable for most of the season, meaning they go from ruck riches to ruck poor. Those 5 are some of their best players......

Clayton have lost a few, but I think it will be way more even than most think, CH have two 6"2 kids in the ruck atm and a heap of two's players trying to fill the gap of a heap of top liners.....

I'm generally pretty honest in here, so I'll tell you what I can.

Walsh got injured on Saturday in the warm up, we'll see how he pulls up this week. Terech should be ok by Rd 2-3. Moor will be alright. Murphy has some work commitments.

We've not had a full side available in the 1's or 2's in ether practice match, for various reasons. 1's have been made up from 1's & 2's and the 2's have been made up from 2's & 3's (not U19's..Although a handful doubled up on Saturday).

We have a few really exciting kids coming through at the moment too, so don't write us off just yet.

highett in for a long year with the tunners, have plenty of numbers but in serious shortage of players with ability. Also seem to be paying over the odds to a number of there players, most of whom are relatively young and homegrown. Are we really going down the path where we are paying the 19 year old average footballer who is barely on the cusp of senior selection, and in all honesty on a comp that is not seen as "strong". Hopefully I am wrong and is not the case elsewhere...

I see Danny casset is back to st kilda city. Cash must be flowing, that's not the club coffers either I am saying his team mates wallets. Lock them up boys.

You're still a dill and the infatuation of stkilda city for the lifeless types at east Brighton is still about
Next we will have the four eyed alcoholic supporter sticking his bib in and his little bald four legged friend for good measure
The standard of the comp is shot so I hope you get enjoyment out of flogging nobodies and playing your ghetto blaster you stiff
Ba ha haa

Few injuries mounting up at Beazley to be honest...All credit go to Clayton who kept plucking away all day. Hopefully we're getting our inhuries out of the way early this year...Trying something different. :D

Rumour I heard. Darren Walsh, injured but playing in the thirds. Whats going on there?

Well done to the winners but not a great look for our comp with so many 1 sided games in the first round.
Will only get worse when the weaker teams cop a few injuries that they can't cover.

Agreed...It's going to be tough. We had to coax players out of retirement, get some young fellas to double up and grab a spectator or 2 that was just coming to watch, to cover our injuries this week. I can only imagine how some of the clubs, not lucky enough to have great depth, are going to go if they get hit with the injury stick.

Hey Super, was that your good self pulling on the boots in the early game on Saturday?? Kicking a lazy 5?? That must have been your first game for a few years. How did the body hold up, and are you coming out of retirement? You may be on the list in the 2014 top 40 SFL players........great job with that in all seriousness. Could not agree with you more on the number 1. Luke James is a freak, and reallistically we never and probably will never see his full potential as he never has got himself fully fit. He plays the game on pure ability and talent.

It's scary and at the same time it's sad to know that LJ had another few gears in him if he got himself fit.

His cousin Callum Cathcart who's 17 kicked 5 on the weekend is a carbon copy just a little bit smaller, very exciting to watch.
