Did City gain any respect last Sunday? I don't think so! Did Richie Rich get any credibility? His reception at the medal presentation said no! Is he good for local footy? You be the judge!

Did City gain any respect on Sunday? I don't think so! Did Richie Rich gain any credibility as a coach? I doubt it! His reception at the medal presentation said no! A drovers dog could have coached that side to a flag. Would Richie get a gig without tipping in? Not a chance! It will always end in tears, good luck to the original City boys that carried the imports although Hasan and Mimo stood up when required.

Were all of the players from city paid or just a few?

Mr Insider how much do you think the Dogs paid this year for there team??
$50,000-$70,000 would be a ball park figure so they would be second behind only StKilda wouldn't they?
I think everyone on this forum needs realise that the days of clubs paying only 4-5 players are over.At least these 2 teams paid the right players the big bucks how would teams like Chelt,E Bright and Mordi feel paying $50,000+ and not even getting close.

Mordi payed no where near $50,000 this season. They were very reserved in player payments with no one getting any extraordinary amounts- the highest payed player was approximately $300.

Anyone getting $300.00 at Mordi was getting way too much. Clubs have to pay for quality players, fact of life, some can pay more than others. Rumour has it that Mordi and Chelt were over the $50K mark and Highett pushing that barrier. City on the other hand were reportedly over $120K. St Pauls some $50K less

Chelt finished 4th and East Brighton 5th so the money wasn't exactly wasted

Yeah rumour has it which means you know jack shit about what Mordialloc Football Club is all about. Be careful about what you say when you start with that line.
I know that the club's total payments did not exceed $50,000 this season and the players that did get a bit extra were few and far between, and were quality players. The club made sure that the money was spent wisely- no more throwing cash away on the wrong players.
The club is building for 2008 and getting out of debt, get some money together for some very handy recruits at Mordi next year.

Mr Insider i would think that Ogier would be worth $400-$500 a week for starters.Kirkland and Horler would both be definately worth every cent of $300 a week.If you put Kirkland in a good side he would kick 70-90 goals and Ogier and Horler would both be in any midfield in the competition.

I agree with you about Kirkland and Ogier but not about Horler.

Awesome player Junior Horler- finished just behind Ogier in Mordi B&F and missed 4 or so games during the season. Talk to any player around the comp and they will say that he is one of the best midfielders in the comp.

I hope you're not footiing the bills down there, Hawks, Kirkland is undisciplined and could be considered a front runner. Horler is a good, honest on baller but $400-500 a game? You're kidding. Ogier a very good player but not worth what you're talking. None of the three you mention would be even considered at over $200.00 but if clubs are willing to pay it they deserve the results they get.

One would have to wonder how they are in debt if that is the case! Hotel up the road was a windfall according to the pundits.

The club was short 3 key position players. Those boys were definitely underpaid for what they contributed to the club during the season- remember the team lost 4-5 games by less than a kick so watch what they will do next year champ with the extra players.

The club got into debt from extraordinary payments to ordinary players before last season. Now that has been all cleaned up, and a turn around in the club culture this season gone, you will see a very different Mordialloc team on and off the park next year. Can't wait till all the recruits are officially announced and the team gets into training.

Chaddles can we safely pencil the Bloods in for there first ever Div.1. finals appearance? I would have though the gap between them and even Chelsea,EB and Clayton was huge it would take a big turn around.

If I was an optimist I would love to say pencil them in, but I wouldn't like to give such a bold prediction this early on. There were 3-4 top recruits who were due to come this year because they demanded an absurd amount of money.

Remember Mordi had about 15 new senior players this season, and it wasn't till half way through the season that they started to really get to know each other and play some good footy.

We only lost to Chelsea H and Clayton by a kick, and EB in the last game by 10 pts or so. So I don't think that they are as far away as it seems, players are already sticking together during the offseason which will set the club up for next season.

Sounds like there could be up to 6 more Edi-Asp boys to head to Mordi next season to join Ogier and Stockley which would be great for the club. Couple that with some key position players and it looks very good for the club in terms of depth and quality of players.

Whispers has just rung in! I mentioned earlier this year that a 3 year contract was bulltish at City. Rumour has it overtures have been already made to Donvale in the EFL. Personally I won't be sad if Richie Rich and his band of merceneries end up elsewhere. Be interesting to see posts on this site, if that occurs, from the staunch defenders at the Peanut Farm. Deja Vu Parkmore?

Well i would say that City will survive as 80% of there premiership side was local blokes,ex juniors and long time recruits that are now part of the fabric.I thought City were gone in the GF 3 goals down with 10 minutes left you could of put your house on the Dogs. But credit where its due they showed fantastic spirit to get over the line and only strong clubs can do that.Of the blokes Richie would pay only Casset had his colours lowered on the day.Hassan,Dimashki and Newmann would be the others and they were brilliant when it counted most.So from an outsider to the Peanut Farm i would say at least he paid the right blokes the big money.Plenty of other clubs in Div.1. would have blokes running around demanding big bucks and they simply aren't match winners.
I think you give Richie a hard time but,if he's only paying 4 blokes then i think he's definately got it right.

Not true.

John Bennet has joined the Saints as assistant coach to Richard.

Mr Insider is one of these Rumour Kings- has no idea what goes on at the clubs. Richard is staying from all accounts but a few players could be leaving apparently- no doubt they will get some new recruits to top up.

Richard coaching stkilda 2008 yes
John Bennet asistant - couldnt afford him, but we are looking for 1 or 2
hopefully a good playing assitant.
Richard - Donvale - Crap Never spoken
Who Richard pays - Casset who works for him and has a contract, Dimachki, Hassan (part with club & sponsor) & Newman (15%for ass coach payment), the club covers the rest.
How many will leave - At a guess 5 will retire or play two's, 2 - 4 will leave for work, location, etc, etc, most premiership teams turnover 5 - 9 players from the previous year .
Player payments 10 of the 21 received no money to play, only 6 players hadnt previously played for the club.
Recruits for 2008 - weve spoken to about 30 players ,see how we go
Salim Hassan & Mimo Dimachki not in team of the year - selectors need to be swabbed
Pre Season will start end of January 2008
Coach of the year - Houston well deserved
Hope this answers al the questions
