Let me add to the train wreck that is the ODFC as this airs itself in a public forum.
It was a committee decision to reappoint Steve Wright not an individual. The vote was unanimous. The committee that have appointed him have now stood down in disgust over what has happened now that is loyalty all except for the new pres he went behind the coach and the committees back. What a guy.
This person who brings in major sponsorship has provided nothing in the last couple of years don't believe me check the books. He promised that he would form a syndicate to pay a 'big signing' no money forthcoming. This person then made written contracts with players then not let on that he had verbal contracts and sign on payments which the club didn't find out til later and have since honoured. This person was part of the independent body that originally signed on Wrighty he also fought to get rid of Pitts. His seconds player mate was even appointed assistant coach to Steve. So no surprise he now wants his mate as coach. Talk about stabbing someone in the back. FYI the ex pres was the one who got most of the sponsorship money and after this debacle the club has now lost this money as sponsors are pulling out. So then who is going to pay the players and then how many players will stay when there is no money.
The club became a better place when certain people walked out and this was reiterated by a lot of visitors and even a league executive.
The one regrettable incident was the Murrumbeena incident where he challenged a supporter of theirs to have the guts to go amongst the ODFC supporters and insult them. He was then king hit but why would we let the truth stand in the way of a good story. So yes all he did was stand up for those of the Districts. When he offered to step down the league asked him not to and may I add the murrumbeena supporter had been in trouble previously with other clubs.
when the ex pres asked if the players had an issue with him on the night of the infamous meeting he was told they didn't have a problem with him at all. So what was said in an open forum at the club was a lie?
The ex pres did listen to the players and did speak to Wrighty on their behalf but this was the same conversations the players were having about Pitts. Btw Pitts did not apply for the coaches job in 2012.

So yes the inmates are running the asylum

I can't see the league running a 9 team comp in Div 2 & a 11 team comp in Div 3, makes it look a bit messy. The logical thing would be for the 2nd placed Div 3 team Sandown to be promoted to Div 2, but their coach has already admitted, that in his opinion their not ready to be promoted nor do they want to without winning a premiership. Fair point I suppose. Maybe danielhm1 could elaborate further or maybe Sandown has changed their stance?

Byes can work in your favour depending on where they're located for you in the fixture but for mine they are a disruption to the season.

Maybe the heavily backed favourite in Carrum-Patterson Lakes should just leap frog Div 3 & start in DiV 2:p

I agree Fish, I think this is messy for both the SFL and the Ammo's.
I think its a bit late to be asking teams to play in a higher grade. I would imagine teams would have plans in place in regards to recruiting/budgeting, sponsorship, membership etc for the year and division in 2013. This would be a major disruption to this and possibly future plans.
The common sense thing would have been to let them play another year in the SFL and then move across. That way all organisation is in place and teams know their fate through the year.
The only club that benefits from a decision at this time is the Southern Dragons.
The Div4 draw in the VAFA now needs to be changed to accomodate them with teams now having a bye.
 
On a side note the SFL board did attempt to execute their decision for a two up/two down promotion/demotion system half way through this year. This would have seen Sandown promoted to Div 2 anyway.

(yeah yeah I know, it still would have been 9 teams in the comp but you'd only promote East Malvern for winning & Oakleigh stay put. Would have dropped Mordialloc & Heatherton back down....interesting, would've been an even more a closer comp in 2013, but I digress)
 
I can't believe Bentleigh appointed the coach they did. Obviously no background checks go on there???? Kicked out of his last 3 clubs, no respect given by any of his players by the halfway point of the season on all occasions, and has the ability to turn players against each other.
Good work Bentleigh???? Atleast you'll be fit, but wont help without a game plan.

Let me guess, you were one of the Keysey boys who wouldn't change their ways & knew it all?? Or maybe you got left out of a side he coached and he made a tough decision? A little bit jealous maybe? Or is it just a diversion to deflect bad goings on at your own club? Anyway it's a pissweak post which ever way you look at it

Got the job because he had by far the most credentials of anyone who applied for the job

The proof will be in the results I guess

For a matter of fact I was playing at Frankston when he was coaching our seconds, no not me, unlike you I got a kick every now and again, although it's not much to boast about as we were pretty damn poor. I bet he also said he was a forward and defender coach in our 1's??? He used that at Keysborough to get their job. I have also been a big supporter of Edi Asp and Chelsea Heights. He never did a thing at Edi, and was by far the most talked about figure at the club, whether thats a good thing is up to you, he thought it was good.
Sour grapes, I don't think so, p1ssweak, not at all. A forum is for expressing ones own opinion, take mine for what it's worth, everyone else will. Little peckerheads like yourself will jump to bite at anything. But you will learn, he seems to already have you hanging from the end of his member, i give til halfway through the season when the only reason you wont state your belief in my above comments is because you love your club.
And no one will ever change Keysborough's culture, that's a given, bunch of you know what's, but when the coach encourages that culture and inflames it, you have to question ones morals.
Just my take on it all.

Fedderson x2 will be at The Hanger next year along with at least one other Bentleigh player. Skye never offered Elvis nothing. He approached them through a supporter and asked about money and asked for someone to contact him, didn't get contacted. Very good player but not the type of person Skye would want. Maybe Elvis was trying to up his price elsewhere. Hammers are the ones who open the cheque book and that is testament to what they payed Dean last year. FACT MY FRIEND. I know Skye have picked up a couple from both Heatherton and Keysy through friendships and a few are back at the club after a year or 2 elsewhere. Don't be surprised if a Wright or two end up down there in a range of roles. :D
 
heard a rumour that SFL have asked a few clubs in div. 3 to go to div. 2, a few have knocked it back, but caulfield fc having a meeting next week

Its just you have to question people's motives that sign up, hiding behind their iPhone supporting "Western Sydney" taking potshots with their first post. Couldn't give a shit who he's pissed off in the past or how many egos he's dented along the way, (God knows there's a few down that stretch)
I'm confident my club has made the right decision.

You say you played for Frankston & was a big supporter of Edi-Asp & Chelsea Heights, not heading down to the new in Carrum-Patterson Lakes by any chance? Seems to be the trend at the moment

Feddersons x 2: Yeah can play! I know how much Skye rate Chris especially when they thought we were trying to qualify him for finals in the last few rounds - were up in arms to say the least. Chris is pure silk & Mark is a tough bastard - played injured for the last few rounds including finals. Will be a loss for Bentleigh.

Elvis & Oakleigh are a match made in heaven & that's all I'll say about that.

Still tied up at frankston fortunately, however, have not watched a div 3 game ever before and really don't intend to. i'll definately there to watch 1 or 2 of your games early in the peace though. seems a few are leaving the demons early, the trend hasn't continued earlier than expected has it??? I was sure alot of them would stay until atleast halfway through the season.
Nothing wrong with GWS is there? or is it that you seem to have a problem with expansion clubs?

We had 8 senior players leave for the 2012 season & only 2 sign on, not sure what the point you're trying to make is?? As you know people come & go for different reasons, happens with most clubs.

I only know of two players that have left thus far & although one of those players is a big loss he only played 2 games last year. But on the flip side wehave already recuited 5 players before Xmas... not bad. Not to mention the potential 15 colts coming through. So for our oppositions mindset please keep talking us down ;)

p.s. Hope you bought that GWS membership then :D
 
Fish 20, the two you say have left I'm assuming are the fedderson boys? Who are the new signings? Could do with some big men down there going on last seasons lack of.

The level of tripe going on about who would come up from Division 3 is mind boggling. Please people, it cannot be any other Club than Black Rock. They legitimately won games ins 2012 - no matter what the Accountants at the SFL may say, the whole thing was a massive beat up which can be proven. Assuming that it is what Cannizzo & Co wish to do, if there is any other Club promoted than Black Rock, it will be on for young and old

I don't think Black Rock have a leg to stand on. They were/are unfinancial & owe a lot of money hence why they were demoted. How would the league look if they demote an unfinancial team & then reinstate them after a team drops out? They're not going to go back their stance.

Black Rock have no chance of going back to Division 2 unless that win the premiership in 2013
