3rd Div should be quite interesting this year with Caulfield & Ashwood desperately wanting to make the jump back up & Mt who have been unlucky not to make it in recent years. I'm tipping Mt to go one better (go Tatts)

Ashwood should win the flag, hard to beat at home, hard at the footy, no massive outstanding players but a good team unit for 3rd division, wont be there long.

Anyone hear how (DOVETON) went with their appeal?
If the SFL are serious about making it a respected league, they will tell them where to go. Too many chances for a club whos idea of 'turning the place around' is only allowing supporters 2 open cans at a time. You'd have to make it a dry zone between princess hghwy and monash freeway to see any difference!!

I went and watched lyndale vs Hawthorn ammos(i'm from hawthorn) in a practice game today.Hawks won by 2 goals, very even game.
Very entertaining game played in good spirits.
I would like to thank Lyndale on a great day,a well run club with good footy people involved.
Good luck for the year guys.:thumbsu:

I wasn't at the game but I heard Caulfield got up over Sth Yarra by about 9 goals.

Anybody at the game that can give a report?

Caulfield won the game by quarter time and was up by 7:5:47 - 0:0:0 really took the foot off the pedal and didn't capitalize with there scoring options kicking something like 15:17 in the end.
S.Dennehey from Murrumbeena at CHB was crucial, J. Shirley from heatherton was exciting with his speed on the wing, Youngster J.Twirdy was in and out of clerances all day with break away speed. Still more to come with some outstanding players in the 2's that will definitely come up.

Thanks for the post Beena! Good to see Jason Twirdy getting amongst it. It is pleasing to see some ex Caulfield juniors starting to return to the fold.

Credit to the administration.

Hard to believe caufield could dominate a game like that! After last year i was sure they would go down to d3 and MAYBE win a couple! Great to hear of their improvement:thumbsu::thumbsu:
How did your boys go against the doggies BEENA??

I heard rumours Toose is looking at returning to Caulfield after they have dropped back to 3rd divvy and look to be winning some games this season.

I thought he was past it but could be handy coming off the bench if rumours are true.

Anyone confirm?

I really think this year in d3 will be very exciting.
There has been a lot of movement this year with the new coaches coming on board. Dandy lyndale caufield ashwood will be stronger this year plus the improvement of sandown Mount endevour hills and all so the unknown off Hallam.

What will the ladder look like at the end do we think

Ashwood
Sandown
Mt Waverly
Caufield
Dandenong
Then the rest ????

Don't count out Moorabbin yet... plenty numbers on the track with new players coming in, old faces returning to add to last years team...

Tips for this week? Any news on teams and what is the vibe around this year winners and lossers

hallam vs DANDENONG .. redlegs have recruited well, and think hallam will find it pretty hard starting a new club in a new comp.. just ask EH. dandy by 6 goals

CAUFIELD
vs morrabbin .. caufield were a rubble last year but sound like they have got their act together in the off season. too strong for the kangas. caufield by 5 goals

sandown vs ASHWOOD .. imo ashwood should not have been relegated. werent far off the pace last year. should'nt drop a game in 2012. cobras have plenty of footballers, but not many good ones. ashwood by 10 goals

DOVETON
vs endeavour hills .. very lucky to be alive dfc, mistake if you ask me. but in saying so they arent to bad of a team. looks like they picked up a few. will be there abouts. EH to suffer 2nd year blues and stay hanging round the bottom 2 or 3. dovetim by 10 goals.

lyndale vs MNT WAVERLY .. havent heard much from either. you would think mnt would have a fire in their belly... AGAIN. come to think of it i rekon they have had that same fire burning for about 5 years now lol. mnt by 10 goals

Shows how little you know about the side that finished second on the ladder last year...

Without trying to provoke any outburst I would of thought that Sandown had a lot to prove this year after the way the seniors finished last season.
I don't think for a second that it would be a 10 goal margin but I think it might be a cracker of a game.

My tips are Lyndale, Eagles, Sandown, Dandy & Caulfield.

I'll have a crack at some tips for Round One based on no knowledge of Div3.

Hope to do some more knowledgeable tipping as the season rolls on.

Hallam v Dandenong (Dandenong by 4 goals)
Caulfield v Moorabbin (Caulfield by 3 goals)
Sandown v Ashwood (Ashwood by 4 goals)
Endeavour Hills v Doveton Eagles (Doveton by 2 goals)
Lyndale v Mt Waverley (Lyndale by 2 goals)

Good luck to all the teams for 2012 (especially The Bears)! Good luck to new team Hallam. Hope you have a great 1st season in the SFL.
