Just looked at the result and surprise, surprise Clayton twos got the chocolates. Cast back to the GF in 08. Challenged by St Pauls. Result? 3 players sent off! The cast was set in stone years ago :thumbsd:

Quoting yourself

Heard through a Chelt source that Nathan Brown will not play footy again as a result of a tackle from Chad Liddell last game. Neuro Surgeon has instructed him so because of numerous career concussions. Superfreak can you confirm? Not being a smart arse, it's shocking news if true. Will defienetly effect Chelt's chances of progressing in the finals even with the recent signings.

I hope this is not true as it is bad for the whole comp not just chelt and just when things where looking good for chelt

Desperately bad news if that were the case. Quality player and quality bloke. Wouldn't want to see him end that way. Fingers crossed he's OK!

Yeah mate, at this stage, it looks to be the case. His personal wellbeing is the most important thing to everyone at the footy club, after all its just local footy. Would be a big blow, but one that we must overcome. It just gives someone else an opportunity to step up and shoulder a greater load.

Sorry Super if in fact he has played his last game. Hopefully he sticks around and the 2 AFL boys still come across.

Without clubs like Chelt (and Dingley) the comp will be based around the clubs with the biggest cheque books, short term success v long term sustainability = 3 - 5 strong clubs per year, the rest struggling to stay viable and very few interesting games.

SF, I don't think there's a forum reader/poster who wouldn't wish Nathan all the best and that in due course, there is an opportunity for him to play again.

Thumbs-up for the positive attitude regards someone else stepping-up. :thumbsu:

Not trying to trivialise this but was there contact to the head, intentional or unintentional? Was the contact late or off the ball?

The comp has lost a big name and if the league doesnt investigate it isnt doing its job.

Tackled from the blindside and driven into the ground with arms pinned. Head hit the ground causing the concussion. Was out for 3 minutes. From our point of view there was no malice or intent and other than a free kick for in the back (Liddell landed on his back...no free was paid) there was nothing in it. I think Chad was just as concerned for Browny's welfare as we all were.

Cheers Super, we had one a couple of weeks ago against City. Our player was knocked out cold but there was no question that the tackle was anything other than perfect. Head hitting hard ground was the issue.

In the AFL the player would be rubbed out for the same tackle, lets hope that we dont go through the same process although if the tackle is late, high or malicious all bets are off.

Spot on, possibly in the back due to the follow through, but a perfectly executed tackle in the first instance. Was just unlucky it came from his blindside and wasn't prepared to take the hit.

what do you want the league to investigate every tackle where a player gets hurt:thumbsd: dont be an imbecile injuries happen every week:thumbsu: no one likes to see it happen:thumbsd: but if you play football guess what it happens:thumbsu: move on and just play the game hard but fair:D:D:D:D:D

Did i say every tackle Einstein? Arguably the best player in the comp was ironed out and may never play again! On the surface, not a good look for the comp.

As it turns out Cheltenham do not have an issue with the tackle as it was fair, in the play and in the rules = no need for enquiry. Now you go and hide behind your keyboard whimp and take some other cheap shots!

Rumour has it that he will play this week against East Brighton

Um no. More chance of Fraser Gehrig lining up for the Rosellas than Browny playing..... East Brighton doing a good job of pumping up the game on Facebook. Good on em!

This weeks selections

Some good games
Mordialloc Vs ST PAULS 8 goals. Mordi finished for the year
StKilda City Vs CHELSEA HEIGHTS, Stkilda City bluffing everyone CH by 5 goals
DINGLEY vs Clayton Clays cannot wait til TM game in 2 weeks Dingoes by 10 goals
HEATHERTON vs Tooronga Malvern The combine cant wait for the season to end Tunners by 10 goals
EAST BRIGHTON Vs Cheltenham. Brown out makes the Rosellas job hard. Vampires by 40 points

Mordialloc vs St Pauls 12 G Ben Kavanagh Reserve
St Pauls will be far to good .The only danger St pauls have if they get any players injured on that sxxx ground

East Brighton 11 G vs Cheltenham Hurlingham Reserve
Will be a good game but this time I dont think The Vampires will let them back in the last quarter

St Kilda City 5 G vs Chelsea Heights Peanut Farm Reserve
St Kilda will show that they are still a big show for the flag this year

Heatherton 8 G vs Tooronga Malvern Ross Street Reserve
Heatherton will be far too good and TM will have to beat Clayton to stay in D1

Dingley 8 G vs Clayton Souter Oval
Dingley to come into the five but only for a few weeks there run home is to hard

This is what is on facebook
Come and see the Ex Melbourne AFL stars Nathan D. Brown,Clint Bizzell and Guy Rigoni take on the top of ladder Vampires. The Vampires have beaten every team this year so now they are trying to get the ex AFL stars to beat the young Vampires https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=127423340675751

I hope East Brighton aren't getting ahead of themselves cause we all know flags and finals aren't won in May June or July......

You're absolutely correct Birdy. The flag will be decided on September 25th and there is a heap of things that can happen before then. One thing that is indisputable is that you canot win it if you aren't in it and I don't know of any club in it just yet. I'm sure that hasn't been lost down at Hurlingham.

East Brighton will get smashed this week,no doubt about it.
