Be intersting to see how TM finish. There seems to have been an almighty turn around since Mick Johnson took the reins. Not a fan of swapping coaches mid season but it seems to have paid dividends for the Combine or else St. Pauls were dreadfully undermanned. Anyone know if they rested players?

We played pretty poorly, definately into their hands but at the same time they showed improvement since the last time we played them.

They had a premiership team reunion at the clubrooms and no doubt wanted to put in a good effort for those guys.

Saw the Vampires today and have to agree. This side is the best SFL side I've seen since Balwyn left for greener pastures. Very young fast and fit. May as well hand over the cup, flags and medals.
Congratulations to East Brighton on season 2011, a marvelous year from a powerful club....
September will be a mere formality.

Which sides out of the top 4 will the massive Springvale ground suit during finals? From what you're saying about the Vampires they should enjoy the large expanses but will it suit the other sides as well?

Does anybody know if the Vampires and the Heights have full lists for this match? Should be a cracking match if they do. Rumour has it Clayton are interested in outgoing Ferntree Gully coach from Div 4 Eastern league

Looking at the ladder you would think Chelsea Heights would go in with their strongest team available, as they need to win the last 2 matches to secure the second chance.

Not sure about East Birghton. Not that i necessarily believe in resting players for the sake of it, it may be an oppotune time to rest a couple of sore players to freshen up for finals.

WIll be an intersting match, and although East Brighton have been nothing short of sensational since round 1, i do believe the premiership race is wide open for 4 teams (sorry Super, dont think Chelt are quite there yet!!) Good for the comp to have 4 teams in contention this time of the year!!

Nothing to be sorry about mate, we are well aware of where we sit!
With our best 22 on the paddock, I reckon we would have been the smoky, but with Brown, Symes, Vaughan etc. all done for the year it will be tough.
Many tipped us to be in the relegation mix in pre season, so we have surpassed many expectations already and the group keep on responding to challenges.
It will be a great experience for all the young blokes playing finals against experienced sides.
You never know what can happen in September however!

Yeah King. Apparently resigned from Ferntree Gully after him and his family were intimidated by a bunch of thug supporters. Then decided to see out the year sfter they got rid of the troublemakers. Must have done a pretty good job. Made a GF last year (albeit a losing one) and have them sitting second coming into finals. Doubt he would continue there next year after the turmoil of the last few weeks. Might be a good fit for Clayton as I'm pretty sure he'd drag a few players with him

See my posting from 8/8 and you will understand why there will be no match report. Annoyed because the game will be worth the price of admission.
