Everytime the Ammos come up against non Ammo teams, they seem to towel them up. There is always a caveat...players out etc...Not sure a lot of these clubs are getting value for money..
TBF Ormond have put together a fairly solid team and are expected to win C grade convincingly, would think they push too 4 in B.. but guess we will never know

Dingley was beaten by noble last week nearly 90 points
this week has beaten by 6 goals against a division 2 EFL team who finished 3rd last in 2019.

Mordialloc was done by a division 3 EFL team in Waverly blues.

Highett was beaten by a division 2 club from the southern league.

Cheltenham got smashed by Beaumaris

Now St pauls were beaten by Ormand a good C-grade team in 2021.

I'm really interested to see how some of these SFNL clubs will fair this season. Doesn't look like some of these teams are playing well this pre-season, I know it means nothing but is there anything behind some of the big-name clubs losing to relatively lower opposition? I Mean that out of respect, these teams some clubs are division 2 or 3 in other leagues.

Ah the Ammo curse has been placed on Ormond. Let's see how they go, now that you have practically guaranteed they will win the flag..

The SFNL are miles behind the other comps.

100% Ormond's side for 2021 would be top 4 in B GRADE.
100% they would not be. Great club Ormond but they are not anywhere near top 4 VAFA B grade. As it happens, they were one of several clubs asked to consider going up when Parkdale looked to struggling but declined as thought they were not ready. VAFA watchers have them contending in C grade this year but by no means are they overwhelming favourites. In fact many have Old Ivanhoe ahead of them.

Some very strong clubs in VAFA B grade this year. They would be slaughtered by De La, Uni Blacks and Old Haileybury. Beaumaris beat Cheltenham by 14 goals last weekend, and the sharks are tipped to be bottom half of B grade.

Nothing like reading a bit to much into practice games!
After almost 18 months out, wouldn't expect anything less. Practise matches regards of 5-6 out will still give you true feedback on how far your depth goes.

With so much time off, I would expect all clubs best players would want to have a run prior to round one missing a full season. Personally, this pre-season isnt the same as others in the past.

Perkins and Mcharg are 2 guns from deer park , will kill it!

Should be a belter, reports in the Hsun today saying Dane Swan hasnt missed a training session, him up against Mc Harg and then Potts v Deluca, going to be an intriguing contest in the middle. Perkins in good form already and will be hard to stop and then the other end Aaron Edwards, Dan Connors & Mykelti Lefau are going to be lethal if they can work together.

City have only had the one praccy a solid win against Deer Park, where Port have had 3 practice matches and a go at the real thing against Oakleigh so may have the fitness edge if its tight.

City have also picked up Espinosa from Beena (he was one of if not their best player) along with his mate Jordy Pollard (ex VFL). Both under the radar due to all the other large ins.

Yes Matty Hoy & Rocket have put together a very good list, from what I hear most of them approached City through mates that were already there or live locally ie Swan is mates with Tabakman who is also mates with Connors etc and these players just love the culture of the club and are playing for well under what they could make in an open market, combine this with the talented kids they have coming up from the u19 premierships they have won I would expect them to challenge for a top 4 spot, if not the flag.

“Love the culture and playing for unders”
Hahaha, you don’t really think they are playing for unders .
Edwards and Potts taking at least half the salary cap .
