Oakleigh Districts were a big club for sure, now in Eastern League Div 3 or 4Districts not krushers bedders - as in districts were the oakleigh team in the federal league. Decent side they had back then!
Krushers were never in Federal !!!!Districts were in Dandy rd , the other one wore the present Krushers jumper
What was the reasoning behind their move to the Eastern? They are in no one’s language an Eastern suburban football club. They may have aswell stuck it out in SFNL division 2.Oakleigh Districts were a big club for sure, now in Eastern League Div 3 or 4

Out north a few district clubs ( inc my club ivanhoe ) gave up on the VAFA and it’s ridiculous archaic rules that only cripple district sides and all are thriving in the NFNL.Yeh that’s a fair point too!
Yeh only old boys teams can survive in VAFA, here’s who the southern should target to get in and roughly the Divisions I think they’d fit well initially
Oakleigh Krushers D2
Oakleigh Districts D3
Parkdale D1
Hampton Rovers D1
Ormond D2
Beaumaris D1
Noble Park D1
Elsternwick D3
Glen Eira D2
Chadstone D4
Prahran D2
Need a few more sponsors and a couple of volunteers to run bars but really the crowds are much much bigger at southern and it would quickly add up.
I don’t think teams like Beaumaris or Hampton would struggle to raise much Money and with their junior programs I think they’d be right up the top of D1 pretty quickly
Im just trying to clarify , there was another Oakleigh team , the ground i think was where the soccer pitches are east of the railway lineKrushers were never in Federal !!!!
And Dragons played games at Dandy rd , feral kidsThey wanted to field junior teams. SMJFL would not admit them because Oakleigh Dragons Junior FC opposed it on the grounds it would cannibalise them.
Their other option was the EFNL. They said yes, but you’re bringing your seniors over as well. The EFNL is hellbent in getting senior clubs in.
AFL Vic were barely a functioning entity at the time and just waved it all through.

As grand as Ormonds history in the ammos is, I reckon it’s time they moved away and would thrive in the Southern.
What is now the Krushers was a merger of Sacred Heart and Emmanual. Played in the ESCFL, not the Federal.Oakleigh Krushers as well
Correct. What is now the Krushers was a merger of Oakleigh Sacred Heart and Emmanual. Both played in the churches league and the OSH home ground was a glorified goat track with appalling facilities near Huntingdale RWS. Made sense that the new entity would play out of Scammel. The juniors are a different club all together (OYC Dragons) but have logical alignment due to sharing a home ground.Im just trying to clarify , there was another Oakleigh team , the ground i think was where the soccer pitches are east of the railway line
Thank you for that and wasn't it the same jumper as Krushers nowWhat is now the Krushers was a merger of Sacred Heart and Emmanual. Played in the ESCFL, not the Federal.

From memory Sacred Heart wore a Port Melbourne strip. Emmanual wore North Melbourne.Thank you for that and wasn't it the same jumper as Krushers now
Aging well! The mighty Narre Warren is close to relegation![]()
Almost as good as Puppet prediction that Springy vs All Stars in the GF.Aging well!
Not quite mate! As someone else said Emmanuel wore north jumpers and sacred heart were essentially reverse Melbourne - red with a blue V. Think they may have been port jumpers when oakleigh ycw.Thank you for that and wasn't it the same jumper as Krushers now
Aging well what do you mean They are still 10 points of bottom placedAging well!
