For what it’s worth Not sure what a dodgy treasurer has to do with a senior coaches win/loss record?

Looking at it holistically, I suppose you could say that if a club had issues with finances then it could well affect your bank balance and the ability to pay players.

If this happened, the affected players would walk and the word would also get around the traps which would make it hard to recruit players the following year. That would in turn risk a senior coach's win/loss record.

So, "a dodgy treasurer", as you call them, can in fact affect a senior coach's win/loss record.

All players have been paid well and on time

Mortlock Watcher I didn’t originally call anyone a dodgy Treasurer that was blood stained angels , but I do have it on good authority that the ‘Treasurer’ unsure of name, was appointed by the ex senior coach himself who removed the old regime and implanted his own ( All Stars posters correct me if I am wrong? As that is the view of HQ who work intimately with the clubs) and the senior coach and that relationship with his self appointed committee soured quickly

End of the day The All Stars had their guns on the park and they wouldn’t consistently show for no dollars in my opinion and the win loss column sits with the senior cockroach, end of.

If the treasurer was appointed by the ex-senior coach then that is a wild deviation from the norm.

Usually, a treasurer is voted in by a show of hands or else elected unopposed at a club AGM. At the most desperate, a club committee can recruit a vacant position internally.

I have heard of coaches bringing in football managers, assistant coaches or team mangers, but if he actually brought in a treasurer in the manner you are suggesting then that is a first for me in nearly 45 years of following grassroots football.

It could be possible that he was nominated by the ex-coach for the committee position. That's the closest I can get to that scenario.

Unsure of the ins and outs but that seems to be the common story, ex senior coach had his fingers in all pies from reports and controlled contracts and payments and got in well above his shoulders both on the coaching front and with his self appointed committee and that they all ended up well in over their heads, leading to the soured relationships with one another but am happy to be corrected if this isn’t the scenario doing the rounds… so yes it could be a 45 year first and probably a good example of not what to do. Senior coach, coaches, simple. Outside of any other influence they try to have , strong clubs should tell them ‘you coach , we operate the logistics’

I have it from good authority that the coach NEVER appointed a treasurer and he was appointed by the club

Oh good , so alot of people are talking shit about going out in straight sets.
I hear he's very good though
Oh we could very well go out in straight sets, Springy are a good side and on their day can beat anyone.

But the club has a lot of faith in Andy in terms of getting us to finals and unfortunately thus far just hasn't gone our way. Will see how we go Sunday

Which club is under most pressure this weekend ?
Dingley - recruited heavily and looked the best team by far all year
Would be shattering for them if they don’t confirm there dominance and go straight into the GF?

Cheltenham- reigning back to back premiers used to winning but most have written them off all year. Will be desperate to send their coach off with another flag

StPauls- also recruited strongly and under coach Scott are 0-3 in finals . Couldn’t go out on straight sets !

Districts- Got the 2 superstars in Martin and Sketcher and also bolstered their mid tier players.
Is this the last roll for those 2 stars ?

Great weekend of local footy with the weather gods doing their thing
Judging by the carnage on the last few pages the All Stars seem to be the club under the most pressure 🤣

What a disgrace at RSEA, it was as if Bedford was umpiring an Ormond game. St Paul’s got away with one !

If St Pauls had kicked straighter it would have been over a lot earlier.

Umpiring was much better than the week before, but to the usual SFNL standard nonetheless.

It was a ripping contest, last 10 minutes was solid football.

It was a cracker, Springy a bit stiff on the 50m penalty not paid to Wetering, Doggies looked better side most of the day.
