Hearing St.Kilda want to take over Sandy with moving all games to Linton st appoint all St.Kilda coaches and wear the jumper as well.
If Sandy say no to St.Kilda will go alone with a 2nds in the VFL would Sandy move to Southern to play as if stands alone in the VFL it won’t last and hate to see a great VFA club fall over and also prey for other old VFA clubs like Coburg and Preston can also survive if not in the VFL but maybe the Northern.

Please guys there's only one guy in here pumping up St Pauls..........we have a long way to go as I said before we can be considered contenders but wins are wins and banking the points early is a good start.

Banking wins is what the game is all about at this time of the year. Mr Treasurer. Unbeaten and will give Murrumbeena a good toweling next up. The draw has been kind to St Pauls and there are a number of players to make their way back. When they do, St Pauls will be a 5 or 6 goal better team towards the back end of the season. Watch OUT!

Thats a shame. Could Sandy operate as a standalone? It would give 40 more local kids a chance at VFL level. Trevor Barker is such a glorious oval .

Sandy will be stand alone within the next 2 years. they will build it up again and use Frankston as a blueprint. They are in good hands with Mark Wheeler as CEO who was previously involved with the Dragons so has good relationships with alot of past dragon players

The Allstars can go all the way if the big 3 stay injury free.

But that's the big question.

Its 2 rounds in not 20.

Ben Reid, especially doesn't have a great history in that regard.

this is actually great news; it will open up a lot of opportunities for boys in the area to play VFL

Afternoon all.
Back for another instalment of an around the grounds.
Hopefully you all enjoy the write-ups!

Division 1
Actually got to attend a game this week in Colts vs Dingoes.
Dingley were really impressive despite being without their bookends in Lewis (Concussed) and Windhager (Ankle, back in a couple of weeks). What stood out to me was how even their spread of contributors was, they're not carrying anyone. Freeman was immense in the middle, he really seems to be thriving with Horton-Milne back to take some attention off his back as Stretton and Peet are more defensively minded. Morecroft also caught my eye up forward, kicked up 3, set up two and could have kicked a couple more in a great showing. Down back, Siposs was also super impressive, watching him kick a ball is awesome, clearing 75 metres (half of Murphy reserve) and with elite penetration (he even got a ball stuck in a tree), defensively he was also very solid, hopefully we see him back for finals.
As for the Colts, didn't think they played their best game. They were sorely missing a key forward, and resorted to playing Hibberd there, where he competed manfully but just doesn't have the size to be a focal point of an attack. Voss and Williams (both Sandy VFL) played, but had little impact. Their ruckman Berry went down injured at the start of the second half, which Dingley capitalised on. McComb played really well in the middle, but the remarkably consistent Taylor had a down game by his standards, which they weren't able to overcome. Charlie Clarke didn't have much of an impact (he did truck one bloke much to the onlooking Jamarra's delight), but will improve as he builds fitness.
Dingley looking like the favourites for mine at the moment, but need to beat Springy in a HUGE Good Friday game.

Bentleigh got on the board with a scintillating victory in a humdinger of a contest against the Lions, holding their nerve nicely. Beena apparently had a few players go down with injury, which exposed their young, tiring legs, but a scalp is nigh for Kinsella's men. Nousis, Meadows, Bawden x 2 and English are all clearly up to senior level from last season's U19 premiership side, and should improve as the season goes on.

Springy unfortunately couldn't overcome Chelt's raft of VFL inclusions, with Moran and Johnson running amok for the Rosellas. The loss condemns the Demons to an 0-2 start, and they'll be desperately hoping for Martin to return in an attempt to spoil the christening of Dingley's new pavilion on Friday. I think that many (including myself) understated the losses of Walker and Arms, who were two of their absolute best last season.

St Paul's, unlike their AFL equivalent, managed to overturn a sizeable deficit to claim a two point victory for the second successive week. While they're banking the points, the Doggies have been far from impressive thus far, but still have the cavalry in Kreymborg, Sziller and Knox (who surely won't last long in the reserves, much to Mr Tivendale's chagrin) to return. They're probably gettable for Beena in what will be a titanic clash on ANZAC day. For the eagles, they've failed to frank their pre-season form (surprise surprise - it means nothing!) into early results. They clearly have a brilliant system, but I fear that the on-field talent just simply isn't there to be a threat to play finals. They play East Brighton next, which after two enthralling clashes last year (a draw and probably the best regular season game of SFNL footy I've ever seen), promises to be an awesome game.

As for the aforementioned All Stars, they took home a cracking victory against a much vaunted Narre side. Reid has been irrepressible to start the season, but we have to hope his body holds up for the year. Still insane to me that EB could have a best 22 with Taberner, Moore, Reid, Grima, Corp, Lamb, Keath, Campisano and Head in it, all of whom are talls. Narre just seemed to have been blown away in third quarter, but they'll be better for the run. Their game against Port in a twilight ANZAC day fixture is a mouth-watering clash on paper, with the winner gaining brilliant traction in the quest for finals.

Division 2
Morrisby fired EM to victory with a huge haul of 8 to stamp his credentials as the division's best player. Hamilton seems to have filled the Amendola void in the midfield, and along with Brunner and the boys from Barooga, give the Panthers a simply awesome centreline. Worrying signs for the Heighters, who are now 0-2 and simply must win against the impressive Dolphins.

Hampton Park spanked the redbacks, with their glittering array of recruits all shining bright against the workmanlike Bears. The Redbacks and Panthers look to be the clear premiership favourites in the division.

Frankston are fast becoming the comeback kings of the SFNL, unsurprising given their young demographic, and they overcame a slow start to eventually supplant the deadeye Burras in an entertaining game, with Keysy just running out of legs in the last. Frankston are yet to have the division's most explosive player (Nardino) on the park for a game and are looking very impressive in their initial MPFNL Division 2 Forays. Both the Burras and Bears need a win, and next weekend's clash will provide a chance for one of the two sides to end their winless starts to 2025

Huge couple of games on Good Friday, with the Mordialloc-Highett clash looking incredibly appetising.

Division 3
CPL rode a team performance to jet to victory in the 2nd half, cementing their status as the early season favourites.
Ashwood pipped Lyndhurst in a bit on upset for mine. Lyndhurst really need Gardiner back to play finals.
Skye finally won a game! The Bombers outlasted the Tigers in an arm-wrestle to spark jubilant scenes. Boland BOG again.
The Saints have had an ominous start to 2025, eclipsing the hammers in a frenetic contest. Hammers adapting well to the increased standard though.
Berwick Springs held off the Rockers to go 2/2 in their start to SFNL. St Kilda City in R4 should be a good litmus test.

Division 4
Clays dismantled the Eagles to go 2/2, Zak Knight impressive with a bag of 7
Hallam absolutely destroyed the hapless Saints, they clearly want to go one better in 2025.
The Yarras gave the Roos an almighty scare, going down by 7 in a valiant loss. A win is surely coming in the next couple of weeks. Kudos to the club for sticking it out
Stevens, as many predicted pre-season, is taking the p*ss. The bullocking key forward kicked 9 to drag the Pumas to victory over Dandy West, who couldn't land a knockout blow in the 4th despite the best efforts of the mercurial Dylan Diacono (Or discount Izak Rankine).

Let's face it, a club doesn't need to give a player money, you just get a third party to give them a job. All sorted. Thats why the salary cap is fraudulent.
