And the AFL waste money on a media section with about 20 dud content journo's which isn't needed and maybe those millions could go into grass roots footy. Apparently a rat like Barrett is paid a fortuneYes, junior football in the region is dead.
St: Pauls juniors used to have at least a team in every ae group and sometimes two teams, now it's only having as its highest level an under 14s.
This is happening across Melbourne where there are well respected secondary colleges.
Within a generation, the number of people playing AFL will halve and teams will start to fold.

what's happened to the Vampires? flogged Chelt before the week off and have now lost 3 in a row after it, the last against a side on a 6 game losing streak

Won’t be Sorrento or rosebudNick jewell not coaching there next season. Allegedly he has not been to training the last few Tuesdays.
Going up coach a club on the peninsula.
Correct , even though he's coaching Rosebud ccWon’t be Sorrento or rosebud
He seems a much maligned and polarising figure in all local sporting circles that he gets mentioned in? Sounds as though there must be troubled seas internally at the All Stars? results very up and down for a club with the high profile players that they have had come and go and coaching generally is a results based caper especially if you are spending the amounts rumoured that the All Stars are spending so I guess there is no surprise there is smoke billowing from down the highway but like most the buck starts and stops with the senior coach and maybe he sees the writing on the wall? But I find it hard to believe the Senior Coach wouldn’t be at training night after night being a Division 1 coach , if not they are cutting the corners and probably not a surprise to see the results that they are producingNick jewell not coaching there next season. To be fair his employment means he's away on the road during the week, coaching at that level is not a full time jobHe seems a much maligned and polarising figure in all local sporting circles that he gets mentioned in? You seem to know him better than most and an All Stars supporter outside of your Vafa commitments , fair enough on the employment schedule, But 10-15 hours a week at a minimum for a division 1 coach is not full time.To be fair his employment means he's away on the road during the week, coaching at that level is not a full time job
Certainly not a All Stars supporter , always hated them , even in juniors .You seem to know him better than most and an All Stars supporter outside of your Vafa commitments , fair enough on the employment schedule, But 10-15 hours a week at a minimum for a division 1 coach is not full time.
Tuesday / Thursday / Game Day with preview / review in between I would say is the requirements at division 1 level and correct me if I am wrong but I would say all coaches division 1 and 2 would work to this template and if not I would be mightily surprised.

What did you watch this week sportAnother great win by St Pauls down at Narre Warren after being behind at half time. This St Pauls outfit never quits. They ooze class and charisma and effort, effort, effort. Man, I am telling you, Dingley Dell should be shaking in their boots. And St Pauls have another couple to come back in yet. While others, notably East Brighton are falling away and seem to be almost in crisis mode, St Pauls are as smooth as 80-year-old triple distilled scotch.
Nick jewell is a complete knobhead! He seems a much maligned and polarising figure in all local sporting circles that he gets mentioned in? Second this if you were taking your kid down to watch an EB game you would have to stick on the other side of the ground the abuse he dishes to umpires and players. Whacking the coaches box doesn’t set a good standardNick jewell is a complete knobhead!
AFL coaches can do thatSecond this if you were taking your kid down to watch an EB game you would have to stick on the other side of the ground the abuse he dishes to umpires and players. Whacking the coaches box doesn’t set a good standard
That’s an appalling decision. From the rushed behind under pressure within 9m to the card send off. Has she succumbed to the youths behind the goals ? Who may I add on a good day act like carnies. A note for HQ- stakes are high in division 1 football and clubs spend big, the big games = the best umpires , 3 female umpires umpiring a top 3 division 1 clash is asking for trouble , the league is doing a lot right but this is an incredibly poor decision. The most senior of field umpires the league has available should be paired with the female umpires at any one time for top end games. This could be season defining for Springvale with the competition being so tight and probably an apology sent from HQ to Springvale wouldn’t be out of order but it won’t give them 4 premiership points. One of the most shocking decisions in the game between Bentleigh and Springvale Districts. And that's an AFLW umpire, Emma Stark
