The Dingley Double! I wonder how the pisstake match report will go this week! Not enough VFL/Senior players in their 2s to get them over the line?

Also #44 from Chelt should get weeks for his poor attempt at a "spoil" when he whacked a bloke in the head instead of going for the ball in the Dingley players outstretched arms!

Pickering is a very solid coach—nothing special, nothing new—just old-school and basic. But in finals, that style often works, and clearly they can build a team around him.

Horsley and Dingley’s camp, on the other hand, looked very professional: plenty of support staff, stats all over the boards—but none of it was really used, and there were no genuine changes made. To see both the seniors and reserves go down with the talent they’ve got is pretty remarkable. I honestly haven’t seen many bigger Goliaths fall than Dingley’s seniors and reserves this year.

The decision to pick unfit players in big games over the past two seasons has to be questioned. But the bigger issue is why Dingley ever let Danny Ades go. He left them in such a strong position, and they haven’t won a flag since. Meanwhile, he’s rebuilt Rosebud into a grand final side in a tougher competition, starting from much further back.

Now, with Horsley heading into his fifth season without a flag—despite having a powerhouse list—the questions must be asked.

I agree, RSEA will be a long term decision for Div 1 finals SFNL.

AFL quality ground and facilities is way to good to swap for another ground, especially since SFNL don't have to travel either.

By the way, tips 0/2 here hahaha

I’m no greens keeper but that’s the winter grass dying off for summer grass to start taking hold. Most grounds are like it this time of year
I am and most councils are now not oversewing with winter grass , so once the warmer weather comes the cooch comes through quicker , as well as being cheaper

I just don't understand why the low scores once again , the wind can't be the issue as 2 other windswept grounds at Sandy and Elsternwick Park had plenty of goals kicked
How can a team on top all year fail to kick a goal in a half ?
SFNL game styles are based on defence whist VAFA is based on attack with more free flowing footy

I'm a big advocate for RSEA Finals. I feel it's a great point of difference for our league.
Grand Finals are traditionally very cagey affairs, even in the AFL. Teams take less risks and err on the side of caution with decisions, which results in a game of football that gets played between the arcs.
I'm sure there would be overwhelming support from players to keep it there as it's a big opportunity to play on the deck.
Great view of the footy in the stands, facilities are top notch. Also 1 less ground and volunteers the SFNL needs to sort from a local club (apart from RSEA canteen and BBQ).

Also important to keep in mind Dingley kicked 3.12 and Cheltenham 6.10. Yes, scoring does dry up a little bit at the ground but I'm willing to cop it.

Dingley would be filthy with yesterday. 1s and 2s both finishing 1st and losing with stacked sides. On the other hand, I'm sure Cheltenham and Bentleigh had a ripper night.

Well they will have a new ground to

I think the Southern will have a new ground up there sleeve come 2027-28 as Sandringham will probably be in Southern Div 1 by that time.
I think they will struggle in the VFL unless they get someone with massive Coin to be there savour.

You really think Sandringham will have a local metro club that will need to find a list of 50+ players?

They will need to find at least another 25 players alone next season as it is, being a standalone VFL team in 2026. Mind you all of those players being aligned to their own local clubs.

The attraction for Sandy at the moment is that they are VFL. Once they are local, they will be in competition with Beaumaris, Hampton Rovers & Old Brighton like everyone else.

I can see Sandringham folding in a couple of years & VAFA will first dibs on TBO with their C Grade finals being there for years

It was no attempt to "spoil" from #44. It was a coward's punch and he will get weeks. Unbelievable that he wasn't sent off

Balwyn won the EFNL with 52 and Rosebud won the MPNFL with 55. It was a "backmans" weekend with the rain and wind

The W game there today in bad conditions was 6 7 to 5 6

Look at the scores at Sandy and Elsternwick , same conditions and both open windy venues

The finals series on the whole was pretty ordinary. Nothing really to give anyone any inspiration. The games were bland and underwhelming. Congrats to Cheltenham Rosellas on the 3 peat. They strangled the Grand Final and Dingley couldn't really do anything. Bad kicking was a feature as well. RSEA park is a hole. The Moorabbin ground has never really been a place where teams can play their best footy. So, other than Cheltenham Rosellas deserving their flag, the SNFL finals were underwhelming.
