Which clubs? I didn’t think SFNL clubs were anywhere near those areas
Hallam, Doveton, End Hills, Narre South, Hampton Park are in City of Casey. You could argue that a very large part of Lyndale, Dandy and a couple of other club player lists are made up of people living in the Casey- Cardinia area as well.

SFNL Return to Play Announcement

Link:
The SFNL Board this week resolved to return to play on July 25 as per the Government guidelines.

Returning to play in a safe, hygienic, and controlled manner was paramount to the board’s decision with the safety and well-being of our participants being our number-one priority. With this at the forefront of mind, The SFNL present to clubs the following Return to Play (RTP) documents from AFL Victoria:
Community Football Return to Play Protocols

Community Football Return to Play Checklist

Suspected Covid-19 Case – Process Flowchart

Further resources to support the implementation of the protocols are available on the Toyota AFL Club help website https://www.afl.com.au/clubhelp

Moving forward the protocols will be updated in line with the directions and advice from DHHS https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sport-and-exercise-restrictions…

The RTP document includes a section on the restrictions of spectators, we are pleased to report that no restriction has been placed on the overall number of spectators at a venue – however strict social distancing rules must be undertaken at all times.

The SFNL’s consistent approach during these unique and challenging times has been to take advice from Federal and State Government, our sporting bodies – AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria – and to work collaboratively amongst our clubs to ensure the best path forward.

This will remain our approach as we are fully aware of the importance of a safe environment for all participants involved and the ongoing sustainability of our clubs.

The SFNL will continue to work with leagues, clubs, participants, coaches, umpires, and all volunteers to ensure we return to competition play in an effective and safe manner and in adherence with Victorian Government guidelines and AFL RTP Framework.

We know how much community football means to our community and we look forward to working together to ensuring community clubs return to play in a safe and well managed environment.

It’s beyond me with everything happening right now, especially in Victoria, that local footy could possibly go ahead??? You can’t even have a rake on a golf course but you’re going to be able to tackle and sweat on 22 different blokes from different areas every week?

Dandrews trying to score PR points, or trying to keep everyone on a leash by giving us more rope.

At least the ‘How to place chairs correctly on the deck of the Titanic’ document was used a couple of times unlike the AFL RTP which will never be actioned at a local football level.

I've heard umpires don't want to go ahead. No umpires, no game. Also heard there was a board meeting this afternoon.

Who has told you black rock are out?
Who has told you black rock are out?
Until you read it on a Clubs Facebook Page, I think people are just guessing.
I was speaking to an umpire yesterday and he said they had to stop excepting requests to join the SFNL Umpires. Apparently they are as flush as they have ever been. They have taken a pay cut to reduce the costs to Clubs.
I’m still struggling to figure out how local footy is going to get around the restrictions in Vic ?
Everyone is hoping the current restrictions will ease by the July 25th. That is what they are relying on. With Teams pulling out and Covid not easing up, they could kick off on Aug 1st if restrictions do end up easing. That's another 30 days from now so a lot can change. A month ago no one was mentioning AFL Crowds Interstate.

SFNL 2020 Season Announcement

The Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) Board met last evening and resolved that the 2020 Men’s Senior, Reserve and Thirds Grade football competitions, as well as the Senior Woman’s football competition, be cancelled.

The primary purpose of the SFNL is “to provide football and netball participation to the Southern community”. We have worked closely with State and local government, AFL Victoria, other metropolitan leagues as well as all our Clubs to explore a responsible way to proceed in 2020, against the challenging background of COVID-
19.

However, in light of the recent outbreaks and significantly increased number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Melbourne, it has become apparent that the health and safety risks have simply become too great to conduct any senior contact sporting competition in 2020.
