Do they though?
That seems a bit harsh. Because of the mercurial nature a lot of their players might have that stigma attached but the only thing that separates them from any other test nation is that a lot of the guys they pick come from left field at the start.

Australia has had 3 spinners in the last 30 years take more than 200 test wickets. So have Pakistan (they had a fourth with 185)
Australia has had two fast bowlers take more than 300 test wickets in the last 30 years. So have Pakistan
Not really sure where the division of batting lies but Pakistan have had in no particular order Saeed Anwar, Inzamam, Azhar Ali, MoYo, Younus Khan, Misbah, Salim Malik, Asad Shafiq has hit more centuries at #6 than any player in history, they’ve had some reasonable all rounders in Razzaq and Mahmood as well as the likes of Shoaib Malik and Mo Hafeez.

I think the only thing that makes a Pakistan player more likely to fizzle out is the fact that they are much more prepared to pick a kid off the back of little or no first class grounding as a bit of a gamble.

Certainly in no way am I saying they’ve matched australia or to a lesser extent SA or India over that period but they’ve produced a lot of good players who’ve enjoyed long, strong careers

Well that. They have a lot of players who come in, play a few Tests and do alright and then are gone just as quickly.

They produce more raw talent that any other nation IMO, but it is a very difficult environment to succeed in. Just from your list MoYo was banned by the PCB, then unbanned. So was Younis Khan. Salim Malik has a life ban. Shoab Malik was given a one year ban. There are probably some other PCB bans or dropping for no reason for those other players too.

Some players have a fast start to their career and fizzle out. I agree he has potential, one of the best talents since Cummins/Rabada, but there are no guarantees.
And that is what im saying. He looks the most talented of any young quick we've seen in international cricket in recent years
