Richmond traded pick #7 and didn't have a pick in the 1st round
How do we know Richmond didnt rate him so highly that they could have still selected him earlier ?
Also during trade period the former pies bloke mentioned that they had Shai Bolton alot higher in the draft and were extremely disappointed when Richmond selected him just 1 pick before theirs.
As far as we know the 2 clubs 1. Richmond 2. Pies with the info from trade radio are 2 clubs that could have taken him with a 1st rounder
With some intelligence, it's easy to see that could be the case. Clubs have their own draft boards, every one of them could have had Bolton as a top 18 pick, however other players available to them might have been higher on their boards, thus they take them before him. It only needs one player to be rated higher than Bolton on their list available to them for them to pick that player before him.
Not really that complicated.
I dont even really care about Bolton, it's important to me you can grasp this basic concept though.

So where does he say the Pies had Bolton "Much higher in the draft" or did you just add a bit of mayo to what you heard?
The Pies would have taken him at 30 - they could have still had him ranked as a 2nd round pick.
This is like Dodo saying last year that in 2013 he had the Bont or Kelly at 1 and Brown in the top 20. Easy to make stuff up to save face.

Mate seriously you really are struggling aren't you , I stated that the Pies really wanted Shai Bolton and were extremely disappointing when Richmond selected him with pick #29 and going by Matt rendell who was at the club would have taken him much earlier had they had a pick.
Now this was in response to where clubs rate players and as the carlton mod jeramais (spelling) tried to explain to you many times they could have posssibly had him as a 1st rounder which is just 12 picks prior to the pies pick #30.
Then you went on a link expedition with no success 'Apparently' and had to be spoon fed the info which you now ask the silly question of "So where does he say the Pies had Bolton "Much higher in the draft"
Seriously what other proof do you need ? Maybe a written statement from the club.

For those that watched him emerge last year - He is a line breaking, tackling, clearance machine that kicks goals and is a very big threat when resting forward.
Hopefully its not a flash in the pan and he can really ascert himself in 2021
Mids like that are worth their weight in gold.
Big offers both contract and trade wise would come thick and fast for Shai should he wish to move which he doesnt.

Would love Shai to be in the Port guernsey, close to my favourite non Port player in the league. Love the way he goes about it now...
