This thread is a joke, right? But sadly it's almost believable given all the rubbsih posted around here in the off-season.

Maybe we should just have a single thread for all the inane and asinine suggestions of retired/delisted players to look at. Could be an in-joke of some sort...

Hey, let's try to lure Richo!

Why oh why would you start a threadlike this... Haven't you seen the pics of Shannon "Tubby" Cox after he returned from his break.. Lazy and fat no thanks I would rather give the opportunity to Milne on the senior list.
I like Riley too, BUT Big Coxy could be the next S.Dew, sounds like he has been on the diet.

COLLINGWOOD defender Shannon Cox has retired after telling the club he no longer had the hunger to play in the AFL.

Cox, 23, informed the club of his decision on his return from the off-season break.

The running defender made a fine start to 2009, playing 11 of the first 13 games in the seniors.

Sorry people ............. couldnt resist! After all, this question seems to have been posed regarding anyone playing, retired, delisted, injured ....
Cox is not bad. Big bodied defender, can play on mediums or talls and provides nice run out of defence. However was first drafted as a forward, so might also be able to give you the versatility as a 3rd tall up forward with Williams gone, though prefer him down back.

The thing with him at Collingwood was there are so many other medium talls down back (Maxwell, O'Brien, Toovey, Goldsack) that you simply can't fit them all in the team. With all those listed higher up the pecking order at the end of the season Cox I doubt thought that he would have what it takes to take a place in the Collingwood side.

For Hawthorn considering size concerns down back might be a nice pickup in the pre season draft or even better as a mature age rookie.

I would say definately worth taking a look at. Would at worst be a handy guy to have in reserve in the case of injuries, but can see him breaking into your side considering the shortage of players of his size down back.

Definitely a need for a keg on legs there.
All good local footy sides have some fat bald ugly tattooed bloke at full back.

Glen Ferrie, what were you thinking!? no way we should draft him! ;)

but i reckon we should draft Richo and play him CHB. he'd slot in perfectly in our backline with Tom Harley. What do people reckon?

Sensational! Cox is available, finally a decent ruckman we can draft and I reckon the best ruckman of the last decade. Go for it Hawks....

I think the Hawks have definitely been jumped by Port in the trading stakes. They've added some top class quality, Jay nash, Jay Schulz and look like snaffling Cameron "Jay" Cloke.
Lucky you're still in line to get Carroll.
