As you may well know, there's a lot of talk on the Roos forum about trading Shannon Grant, and on more than one occasion Collingwood has been sigted as the club most likely to pick him up if the trade is on, after the loss of Didak.

I won't bore you with my opinion, but i was wondering what you guys thought about him, and what you would be willing to give for him in this years draft.

Don't really know why he'd fit in with us, nor what it is they want (knowing that pick ten is out of the ball park).

What do I think of him? Aging gun. What would I give for him? I probably wouldn't trade for him given that he turns 30 in the start of next season. If I did, it would be an existing player of whom we have a surplus of. I would not touch our top 3 draft picks under any circumstance.

We'd be kidding ourselves, ala Norf last year, if we thought all we had to do to win a flag is top up with the odd established senior player.

Quality player who I would definitely consider, especially in light of Didak's injury. In terms of his age, we have room with the retirements of Caracella and Morrison, so he wont make our list "too old".

But why are they trading him? Is he carrying an injury? Is he getting paid too much? Has he got fat and lazy? If we can answer all these questions to our satisfaction and agree a suitable trade for a player his age (ie a young fringe player), then great. If not, then pass.
 
I’d like to add Grant to the list but his age makes it pointless paying much since we are not Shannon Grant away from a flag. If he comes with a quality ruckman and two quick, skilful midfield mates then you can have the farm but that is all academic.

Just as an aside, I would also prefer to keep his manager out of our club and I know Eddie & co would too.

collingwood need goal kickers, nicholls yet to play a game, davis too inconsistent, thomas i agree, i would love to have shagger down at the pies because that wat we lack at the moment even an akermanis would do us handy

as a north supporter id be more than happy to trade shannon i feel he has been a great servant to the club but his form has slumped dramatically. he may have been injured this season im not sure but something wasnt right. also he has a huge salaries one of the biggest at the club and in our financial trouble his departure would free up money. Also we could gain a good draft pick for him as im sure we wouldnt settle for less. An older player is just wat collingwood need as they are likely to make finals once again next year and possibly top 4 where as north are in the rebuilding faze

If you don't want him, delist the dud
 
I didnt mean he was a dud i meant that he was past his prime. Also how can i dump him onto collingwood who do u think i am dean laidley? u need a player like him he can either fill in for brodie holland for 6 weeks or didak till july then he can play as a forward pocket and kick goals for you
