HBO's latest offering.

Watched the first episode last night, dark feel about it, lots of secrets in a small town. Amy Adams already knocking it out of the park, her character clearly has some demons.

Early days but looks the goods. Will be watching Ep 2 tonight.

Loved it so far, has a bizarre errie feeling too it, can certainly tell this was directed by the same person as big little lies. Been addicted to the music so far in this show.

Loving the bizarre/eerie nature of it

WTF happened to Camille to cause her to be this broken? I can only assume there's more to the story of her sister's death than they've let on so far. I can't imagine that her dying of an illness would cause either Camille's, or her mother's, behaviour

Yep, she has some serious demons. Her younger step-sister is also definitely off. Can't blame her though, their mother is something else.

Is she?

Seems to mostly be what I'd expect the popular girl in Hicksville, USA to behave with a mother like that that is seemingly obsessed with other people's perception and doing "what is right"
Have you watched episode 2 yet?

What did you think about the whole fit in the living room?

Really enjoying. Wish I had waited until the season was finished to start watching though.

Holy sheet!

That last 30 seconds, was that happening in the present or the past? Me and the missus did the old rewind and pause on the dead girl. Still couldn't pick who it was though, at first glance I thought it was little sister Amma but not the same dress that she was wearing.

Something up with Alan the dad, super reserved dude, took the headphones off in that last bit and kinda entered Adora's room with a different personality. Or was it just that he was drunk?

Also how ****ed up is Camille?

Really enjoying this show. It's excellent.

I'm probably looking too far into it, but after the FBI agent said how hard it would be pulling the teeth after trying himself on the pig head, they showed the Sheriff straightening out the Stop sign with a mallet and a pair of multi-grip pliers, and I thought "those would do the job"

The editing on this is something else.

For me it sits at that Venn Diagram of Gone Girl, True Detective and Big Little Lies. It's impressive in just how atmospheric and uncompromising it gets. I'm not sure what I'm hoping for or expecting, but it's been addictive to watch so far.

And man, Eliza Scanlen as Amma. Literally her only role before this was a stint on Home and Away. More than holding her own against Adams and Clarkson, and just a fascinating character in her own right. Buying all her stock.

Really? That is a massive step up in quality and as you say, she's doing a great job

Great show. Really enjoying it so far. Great acting by Amy and Eliza Scanlen in particular.

Camille is ****ed up but who wouldn't be with a mother like that? FMD, what a unit. Gas lighting her continually.
