Have to agree with what everyone has said here, he looks tentative and unsure what he's doing, develop him in the twos and let Pfeiffer or Armfield play that role.

Armfield is still learning, and although he gives it his all, would benefit more by remaining with the Bullants for at least the first half of the season. As for Pfieffer, he is ready made, and would be pushing for senior selection this week. Might just come down to how many changes the MC want to make for this weeks game.

Promising today with his run and skill when he sent a bullet pass to Fev on the run.

Brilliant goal as well. :thumbsu:

But Grigg isn't a defender when he ran under the ball and didn't go hard enough when Medhurst showed better judgement to take the mark. He should keep his spot in the side for the next month, but he should be played on the wing as part of the rotations and not as a defender.

I don't like him down back.

Promising player though.

Did Wayne pick him? :)

Grigga looks to have put on a bit of size over the past few weeks and may have lost some of his pace.... what does everybody else think about this??

I'd like to see him move to the wing and told to take them on.

I'm sick of seeing wingman and midfielders being developed by being played as defenders.

He showed good acceleration when he took off from the wing on Thursday night, but he kicked poorly when he didn't have many options up forward.

He also needs to harden the **** up!

I think that this is still a bit of a holdover from the Pagan era where a lot of our good midfield players were ruined by getting them to play in defense where they lost their attacking edge.

Should be a lot better with a few more games under his belt at either the Ants or in the seniors.

I think one of rattens best moves of the day was to put grigg on h shaw. Really got under shaws skin early and stoped shaws run of half back.
Bloody hell i loved today.....

GO BLUES!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Did well as a defensive forward on Heath Shaw and pretty much snuffed him out of the game. Shaw was a match-winner last week so that was a major win for us.

Fair call regarding the move where he played on Shaw, but I was referring to the Medhurst mark which was right in front of my seat.

Grigg could have stopped it if he went in a bit harder and played the ball.

It's just a part of Grigg's game he needs to work on.

Thanks for proving me wrong and making me look foolish. :o :( :thumbsu: :D

Had some very good games to towards the end of the end, most notibly against Adelaide and North Melbourne. Appears to have really picked up the pace of the game now, and looks pretty adept coming off the half back line, and he can also play a shut down role as well.

I think that Grigg could (not certain) end up playing very much like Hodge.

For some reason he just reminds me of him a little. Grigg has a few years to make some ground up of course, but think he could do worse than model his game on Hodges role this year.

Any others agree?

I don't think he'll ever have the natural class of Hodge, but i see what you mean. Though they must go to the same naturalist for their angry pills

The only problem with Grigg is that he is one of the lesser left foot kicks I have seen. Usually, you associated left footers with good, long, accurate disposal but Shaun doesn’t fit this description. Not saying his disposal is terrible just when compared to other left footers he is not that great

Grigg will be more like Birchall, but harder at the ball and the man...

Just happy that he looks like he is starting to find his feet. Lets not forget that he was a goalkicking HFF at TAC level. Learn teh game in the back half and progress mid or fwd later on.

Big future - gee l love left footers :thumbsu:

Will be very exciting to watch him grow. We've seen with Gibbs and Murphy and will see it with Kreuzer but he is definitley one that i will love to see just grow over the next 3, 4 years.

Same as left-handed batsmen - why do they look so smooth and precise? :thumbsu:
