Which player would you pick for your team if you had the choice

I'd take Higgins because we still lack a medium midfielder and half forward who has the skills and the smarts of a Nathan Brown or Alan Didak. That sort of skill is harder to find on our list than a pacy, tall wingmen or half back flanker such a Birchall.

I think Higgins has more smarts than Birchall and just evades the tacklers like the one and only Marc Murphy. Hawthorn and Dogs fans should stay out of this one and let impartial supporters vote. ;) :thumbsu:

Oops I already voted before I read your comment  .
At this stage I would take Birchall. Hes bigger, faster and harder at the ball. Still Higgins looks a gun after his bag tonight :thumbsu:

That comment hasn't stopped me in the past. :D

I'd gladly take Hurn or Jones as well but I think Carlton have enough stocky onballers who aren't fleet of foot or agile.

Higgins was impressive but given both have played only a handful of games, it is hard to choose. Still, I was impressed with Birchall last year, so would probably take him ATM.

Why are Hawthorn supporters so insecure that they have to jump to the defence of their player even when they are specifically asked not to respond?

Birchall is 9cm taller and around 8kg heavier then Higgins...
Does that even matter?

Kouta played onball and he's about the same height as Birchall.
You cant be serious? How is Higgins leading this poll?
Maybe he's a better footballer and a better kick. ;)
Birch is only behind Murphy from the 05 draft.
Did you see last night's game?

Kennedy showed that he'll be a better player than Birchall and will influence more games from CHF than Birchall.

look at the facts before you bag birchalls class. last year he kicked at 93% efficiency.
Stat is a crock

Easy to kick at 93% efficiency when you're chipping it 20 metres sideways for Luke Hodge to get another soft possession. Plus with Hawthorn's super flood they always chip it around down back (ala Bulldogs) until they can run it out

Good thing stats, Nathan Bassett comes to mind by breaking the number of marks taken in a game because he is going to be remembered with the Peter Knights and Gary Dempseys of the world as a great overhead mark isn't he

Higgins plays in the midfield and has a player accountable for him. Is also super in heavy traffic and we haven't given him the soft option to learn the game across half back like Griffen & Birchall

Yeah, you don't watch much footy do you.
So what do you do with your spare time?
