Hey has anyone ever used or known someone that has used conditioner for shaving? I have heard that it is suppose to leave a really nice fresh feel on your skin i am yet to try it out.

Before I turned 18 (and got given an electric shaver for my birthday), I used to like shaving in the shower (saved time), and I used to use conditioner for shaving. I got the tip at around age 15 from a guy I went to high school with that it was a good cheap time-saving alternative to shaving cream, and it worked a treat

I just recently bought a Philips Bodygroom. It's really comfortable and easy to use - it's kind got the shape and feel of a giant manual razor, and the natural motion of using it is similar. It's cordless and rechargeable - 8 hours of charging gives 50 minutes of use. It comes with attachments you can use if you want to shave your head, and is designed to be sturdy enough to shave anywhere on your body (not just your face/head), which is handy if you're a bit of a manscaper like me. I'd definitely recommend it

Disposible razors (I lost my old gillette that would take the cheap asian knock off blades)
Use the one that spits the hair out( they last longer than most blades too)
I aint paying for triple blade B.S.
In the shower without looking
Use hair conditioner as a lube
Its cheap, easy,fast and effective.

You sound like a cheap bastard with a face full of scars.

I used to use fairly reasonable disposables, 3-blade, lube strip type. I got a Mach 3 and I'll never go back to disposables. I only shave once a week because I don't really feel the need to be clean shaven every day, so I like a sharp blade to cut through the hair. I use the Gillette "Rough Beard" gel too.

ok need an answer to this. shave with or against the growth of the hair? i shave my legs (no homo) because i can't stand having taped up my leg then having hair rip out.

also with face, with or against the growth? i've always gone against for everything but i'm prone to ingrown hairs and shave rash so i need to be careful

I've wondered about this too! On Queer Eye for the Straight Guy the grooming guy said to always shave with the grain, but every man I've ever seen shave goes against the grain. So I don't know!

^^^^ Always with the grain 4 me after a nice steaming hot shower.....no rash, no nothing. Tough bearded dudes can always finish off with an against the grain shave if they have problems getting a close shave initially. Replacing blades regularly and hydrating the skin well beforehand though is vital.

yeah, yeah, hot shower will do as well. Not everyone has access to a sauna every day

I've wondered about this too! On Queer Eye for the Straight Guy the grooming guy said to always shave with the grain, but every man I've ever seen shave goes against the grain. So I don't know!

One of the few things that gay men do that I do as well.

You should look into wet shaving. Red Stroker posted a post at the top of this page about it, and there is also about a 150 page thread on the misc about it. My decision of swapping from cartridges/electric shaving to wet shaving has been one of the best decisions i've ever made.

It results in a much, much closer shave and consequently a smoother face. I get no irritation whatsoever and shaving is now not a chore, it's enjoyable.

In the long run, it will also save you a lot of money as new blades are about 25c each.

i got the fusion or whatever its called and i thought it was expensive because of the shaver. i was annoyed when i saw how expensive the shaver heads were

Got a bit of a problem atm. Currently I have this facial hair that connects sideburn to sideburn:

So I have to shave under my chin/neck area. I keep getting in growns and rough dry skin from shaving in this area. Any advice?
