No - he is a smart man because, in time, he is proven (mostly) to make smart moves.
Re Cox: Cox has plenty of ability (you obviously have seen very little of him) - is extremely quick, can kick prodigiously (a long way, just for you), but has been a little undisciplined with his play, and continually played out of position (helped enormously by the lack of faith in him by our previous coach). Just the sort of player Sheedy has proven to take on as a 'project player', and turn a career around. IMO, he would fit beautifully on a wing with Essendon (it is what they are after - pace), and I know it will bite us on the @rse!!

Sheedy has been doubted time and time again only for him to prove the football world wrong over the last 20 years. Who knows what he is up to but iv trusted him this far and he hasnt lead me astray. Kevin Sheedy: The messiah

Sheedy is a galah. He makes his living out of deflecting blame, just like they do in Parliament. Any time there is criticism, he gets his deflecting shield on and starts parrying the trouble away. Quite often this involves having a go at the AFL, Brisbane or anyone else in the immediate firing line.

And i agree with a previous post saying that they needed a quick midfielder. Maybe he's hoping to get a really good 18yo in the draft and put him straight in. or perhaps a 6 time B&F from another club, pay him pittance and throw him in there. Dunno, just a thought.

Yep, you fit the bill of the typical Essendon Supporter perfectly.

Defending and DEFLECTING BLAME are two totally different things from my last recollection.

Esssendumb's trading motto from next year:

"COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA"

gullible is all you morons who defend the fact that your coach makes your highlight of trade week getting free feeds and drinks at Optus Oval.

a "smart man" would have traded Johnson to Port for pick#11 whilst the hack still has some currency, next year he'd be lucky to get you a free coffee from Gloria Jean's for him.

Sheedy a smart man....? my word.... pulled the wool over his own club with signing another contract just so he can chase Jock McHale's 714 game coaching record. it's all an ego trip for Sheeds now. He's accomplished more than many and what better way is to top off a fine career.
In the wash up.... making up the numbers and still competitive without bringing new blood to still believe they are a serious threat.

Nick Stevens, Tony Lockett, Shane Crawford, Collingwood's history is cluttered with unsuccessful trade attemps and the one's you have made, Molloy, Olarenshaw, McKee (Roach) are pretty ordinary.

Don't think your in too much of a position to have a go.

It's just interesting that all your posts appear in Essendon related threads.
It's ok, I don't mind, I sleep well at night knowing that I support a club that is hated by so many.

And it's you're as in 'you are'

Dumb as dog shizen indeed.

10 players of our 22 that played Port Adelaide in 2002 won't be on our list next season. That's almost half of your playing side gone in two seasons. That's a pretty big change and a lot of new blood. So before you make stupid comments put a bit of thought into it. You might be suprise at how much you learn.

Collingwood have made some bad blunders but the following aren't ones:
Mal Michael - wanted too much $$$$ or wanted out. Jarrod Molloy gave us 3 solid years of leadership, came second in our B+F in 2001. Obviously a trade in favour of Brisbane however.

Williams - ended up playing lacklustre football for us and needed a change of scnery. We ended up getting both Holland and Clement for him. We ended up winning in this trade.

Morrison and pick 10 for 7 and Nixon - Nixon was going to be delisted, and we were keen on Morrison. We will see if he is worth it but we will probably pick up the same player as we would at 7. I don't think we were after Monfries.

Yep, cause if theres one thing that embarrases yourself, it's being the 2nd best team in the comp. No doubt about that. Mc phee, yeh he's a good player, so was carracella, 2 time premiership player yeah? cupido is nothing. wanna bring up trades, how about clement? buckley? this is just pointless no?
Want to point out how many premierships Buckley and Clement have won? McPhee is sure to win at least one in his time at Essendon. :p

Phhtt, it wouldn't be a press conference without the Martian's being mentioned. Then there was the time after about round 3 or 4 when he started attacking the AFL. That's two off the top of my head! The news even said that he was putting the focus of attention toward the AFL in an attempt to get the attention away from his own team's poor performances. But mate, as a Carlton supporter, I'm never going to give him the time of day, and you're never going to respect my argument. So let's call a truce.

I should add, he's smart, I mean how many other coaches could last 25 years at one job. Must be doing something right.
