Wouldn't have anything to do with being a young player would it?

Being inexperienced?

But that's what happens to young players, they get exposed.
It happened to Ryder at times this year. I think sometimes we forget that Kep was a kid playing a mans role and instead of recognising that, we automatically assume that playing him there was a mistake.

I don't believe it was a mistake, I believe it was a lesson.
You win some, you lose some.

Paul Barnard, Dean Solomon, Danny Jacobs...

I think drafting Kep was a combo of best available and need. We needed a tall.

I don't know about that either, I reckon he was a natural midfielder who was never going to have the pace to play that role at AFL level.

If you ranked his best positions, it would have been midfield, forward, back. In that order. We wanted to develop him into a tall midfielder, but it was obviously early that he didn't have the agility for it.

We had Lloyd, Lucas etc, but a lack of depth back. Playing him back was the right idea, it didn't work out but it looked good for 12 months.

Only because we had Lloyd and Lucas.
If one of them weren't at the club, Kep would be a Bomber in 2008.

Well it doesnt really matter now anyway as he is gone. Chalk this up to another area where we agree on some parts but have diferrent views on a few other areas.

Nobby this is the biggest load of crap i have seen . Just becasue i refuse to bag a bloke until the cows come home it does not mean i have the rose coloured glass's on. Find me once where i ever said Kepler was going to be a star to start with , all i have ever said was he could be a good forward. On top of that find anywhere that i was up in arms when we let him go. You wont because it didnt happen. My philosphy was i would have been happy to keep him but i could understand why we let him go and i was never really all that worried by it.
The trouble isnt that i hold onto hope. I just like to take everything into account. I refuse to judge simply on the small picture. That doesnt mean that i refuse to let go of hope. I would like you to point out where exactly i have continually gone down the road of saying we need to keep a player that isnt up to it! I agreed with them delsiting MJ. I said that i didnt agree with them giving Dyson a two year deal. I said i agreed with the Cole decison and i even agreed with the Bradley decision.
It is on record here what i have said about a number of players and it will show that i will raise their bad points just as often as i raise the good ones.
Maybe you need to read what people actually post
before making sweeping statements!!
Given your efforts in regards to Gumbleton late last year and early this year i wouldnt be throwing too many stones or making coments in regards to having the blinkers on.
Seriously what you said above is just a total toss !

How dare you acuse me of making sweeping statements! Sweeping? Thats a bit below the belt isn't it....;)

And Yes I f-ing did go on about Gumblton a tad before the draft last year. But i couldn't help it!

Here i was,a Melbournian, living in WA and watching this giant gun of a kid who was talked about as a top 10 draft pick by the middle of the year....and he just looked like he was made to wear an Essendon jumper.

You watch him next year.......
