You may be right there nobby but have the feeling that peter jackson was in sheedy's corner the whole time, thats why they went there together.

After 24 hours to think this over the only dissapointing thing is that the board blatantly lied to supporters, there needs to be something sone there, maybe will happen at the agm.

Understand timimg and gratefull that at least we can show sheedy how gratefull we are for the last 27 years. Just like we have been doing with hird all season (the cheers when he comes on/off the ground are awesome and now sheedy will get his accolades he deserves for making us a great club)

I'm not right across it but I don't feel lied to. Horsburgh said announcements would be made as Essendon saw fit and that's what happened.

It's taken me about 24 hours to get over the shock of hearing this news. Like most people here, I'm very disappointed with the decision, and I think that a coach of Sheedy's calibre deserved better. The ultimate send-off would've been to let Sheeds coach the Bombers to another flag, but instead, when the Bombers are struggling to make the finals this year, the club introduces a new element of instability by announcing that they will not renew the coach's contract.

I don't think it was the right decision at this point in time. We're in a re-building process, and now, more than ever, stability is important. I think that our chances of making the finals within the next few years has just been wrecked.

Now that name is interesting as it has been actually thrown in the mix for both the Freo and Essendon jobs my sources tell me. And they are pretty good sources.

Simon Eastaugh may be the Ross Lyon of this coach search. The curve ball nobody expected.
